It not only greatly expands the Dominion focus trees with unique events, but they also allow you to play as colonies in Africa and Asia as well. I actually had a great game as British Malaya. They’re a little slow sometimes to update the mod to the latest base patch, but I think it’s worth it.

@montecarlo1651
23 күн бұрын
@@Coolinjay04 Not really wishing to enter your little discussion with @GGNatalie but you might want to do a bit of research. Australia actually supplied most of the generic materials for the US forces in the Pacific throughout the war. The contribution was so important the US encouraged Australia to demob some divisions (CMF) to return to industry and, critically, Australia was if not the only, then one of the only countries, with a positive balance of payments with Lend Lease. That is, the US owed Australia at the end of the war, not the other way around. None of this amounts to 'the most important' but it certainly isn't trivial either.
@Coolinjay04
23 күн бұрын
@@montecarlo1651 I don't want this to turn into a debate. Yes they were "important" as was the 15+ countries in the allies. Wikipedia states simpily, "While the military was largely relegated to subsidiary fronts from mid-1944, it continued offensive operations against the Japanese until the war ended." In the actual gritty fight for the most part the Australians were what we would call reserves today. Only 27,073 confirmed kills for the war. That's what the Americans fought on a single island.
@montecarlo1651
23 күн бұрын
@@Coolinjay04 Fair enough. You are considering contribution mainly by casualties and this isn't a good measure. If it was, then China or the USSR would be by far the most significant contributors, and I don't think you'd readily agree with that. Australians played critical roles in Nth Africa and responsible for taking 10s of thousands of POWs in addition to inflicting considerable losses on the Axis. It was Australians that defended Tobruk, and held it against repeated attacks from Rommel (he called the Australian's the elite troops of the Empire), and Australians made the key breakthrough at 2nd El Alamein when their attack was meant to be a diversion. These troops, called the 2nd AIF and comprising 6 divisions, were raised from volunteers and were Australia's regular army, they were not militia or reservists. That they were all volunteers makes them unique among all combatant forces and partly explains their esprit de corps. The CMF, a sort of reservists force, was initially deployed in the islands north of Australia when Japan entered the war as the AIF was still in Nth Africa however once the AIF came back, they took over the campaign. Being hardened veterans, these were very serious soldiers indeed. Australia was consigned by MacArthur to ancillary theatres for political reasons, as he wanted to achieve results with American troops to aggrandize his reputation in the US. This was a bit like how he was consigned to the same theatres by the US military to deny him any great achievements. That tends to understate the Australian contribution to the War, if not the Pacific theatre. Australians were the first to defeat the Japanese Army, at Milne Bay in PNG and followed this up with steady success in appalling conditions throughout PNG and into the Indonesian archipelago. Most of this history is forgotten, including by most Australians. Of course, how can this compete with Nimitiz's naval campaign? It can't, for more than any other single contribution, it was this contribution by the US navy that dominates the Pacific theatre. All of the other theatres, with the exception of China, are clearly much lower down the list. I am certainly not arguing for any greater role than the country deserves, but its contribution wasn't nothing and deserves to be remembered.

That is, the US owed Australia at the end of the war, not the other way around. None of this amounts to 'the most important' but it certainly isn't trivial either.

Very cursed seeing men in shorts and slouch hats fight in a Russian winter.
Hoi4: Unexplored and Forgotten Focuses
Being australian can suck sometime. Thankyou for bringing attention to the colloquial distant drunk uncle of the planet.
Unironically you've been getting better deals than we got irl.
The malaya focus in the facist path has always gone well for me, but never in a single game have i gotten new zealand
Could call it the "Focus Trees you don't See" or just "Weird focus for me"
Focus of Iron
Series could just be called "Focus Trees*" with the asterisk standing for all the rest, heh heh
I haven't played Australia yet, but the day may come one day since I often use a wheel of fortune to choose the country and ideology I'm gonna play next. With historical focuses off, of course. If I'm already going insane, I shall fully commit to it.
You should try playing HOI the way I always do: open the console and type research all, fa, and pp 2000
I was a Gravy Baby. But i got eaten by a dingo.
I'll be having your gravy, sir
Richard Dixon? Honestly sounds like althistory book's fictional Richard Nixon analog.
Hocus Focus A-Z
Glad to see another episode of "Loosing my god damn mind playing every nation in Hoi IV for the third time to Z"

New Zealand and Australia desperately need new trees.
I’m still all for the name someone suggested on the last video “HOI4 Alf to Zinoviyev”
You actually got decent territory as Australia, I'm impressed. After my super invulnerable to AI battlecruiser strategy stopped being effective I never bothered trying them. Still, having to steal a navy...
Bruh everybody underestimates Australia, including Paradox Interactive...
Time traveller: steps on butterfly President Richard Nixon: 5:51

Call the series "HOI4 gameplay walkthrough and tutorial part 1"
Name it the Focus tree fandango!

Perhaps the series could be called “A to Z Redux”
