because he have that whatever monster in hand to negate it, and thought it was enough to negate that one card, which became his downfall, you can't rely on 1 trigger as defense anymore, and only use it to test the water, if it work, good, if it's not, depend on how much you want to keep your trigger going

Usually to get him out I usually will summon The Black stone of legend, then use it for a special summon to summon red eyes black dragon, then special summon Darkness afterwards.

and that is why you should respect the backrow

And people say that battle traps suck nowadays lmao. It's moments like these that prove that they can still come in clutch :)

The second Magic Cylinder resolves first before Kuriphoton, hence the damage still applies. Kuriphoton just blocks the first Magic Cylinder.
