Join us on an incredible journey through Chongqing, China, as we uncover the city's unexpected wonders and hidden gems! From witnessing a train that goes through a building to exploring the second-longest escalator in Asia, this vlog is filled with surprises at every turn.
We start our day in Chongqing with an unbelievable sight - a train that runs right through a residential building! The innovative engineering marvel leaves us in awe as we discover the silent and efficient monorail system that has become a tourist attraction in its own right.
Next, we venture to Testbed2, a cultural centre brimming with art and creativity. We get hands-on with traditional Chinese printing techniques and make our wishes at a unique art installation. The blend of modern and traditional elements showcases the city's dynamic cultural scene.
Our exploration continues at a local market where we indulge in the flavours of Chongqing, and Sophia gets a temporary air tattoo, adding a personal touch to our adventure. We even try our luck at a shooting game, winning a cute prize that brings a smile to our faces.
As we dive deeper into the city, we visit the People's Great Hall of Chongqing, an impressive government building where important decisions are made. The grandeur of the concert hall inside leaves us speechless, highlighting the city's respect for art and governance.
Our day ends with a serene flag-lowering ceremony, a moment of reflection on the day's experiences and the country's traditions. From the bustling streets to the quiet moments of the ceremony, this vlog captures the essence of a city that's full of surprises and rich in culture.
Join us on this unforgettable journey through Chongqing, where every corner holds a new discovery and every experience tells a story. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more adventures around the world!

Hey Jack, really enjoying your China series. I'm a fellow Chinese Australian here, and just wanted to let you know that most tourists mistake the mere mall cops or private security guards in China with actual police. Those guys are pretty much there to help people with directions etc. and have no real authority.

A lot of the security guards you see are just hired by the private businesses, like shopping malls, pedestrian streets, or outdoor parking. etc. Somehow they’re often just directly equated by the foreigners to be “more police presence”. Private businesses wanted to keep their business place safe and protect their own property. Those guards don’t have much authoritative power. If you try to do bad things on their business property, they would stop you and if you don’t obey they would still need to call the real police to handle you. It’s really similar to security guards you see in shopping malls or fancy buildings or something in the west.

Jack: "if you're in China, then follow China rules and you'd be fine or else you'd be in trouble". Isn't that the same for all countries including U$ and UK? Do they both have precisely the same rules? Nope of course not even though both are related to each other in history, culture and traditions, so why would anyone expects China to have the same rules as Europe? It's a matter of choice, if people enjoys western freedom then they would go to Europe or U$, where they have complete freedom to shoot, l00t, wee in the underground or subways, smoke pot etc etc. China is not going to stop them anytime soon. If people enjoys the comfort of safety and not being mugged, knifed or sh0t and have to pay over the odds for 3rd rate public transportations, and not have certain values shoved down their throats like 100's of gender identities or trans education being made into a syllabus in schools then they could chose China or somewhere in Asia. It's kinda nice to have a contrast I think. Not everybody wanna be like the west, not everybody wanna interfere or judge the internal affairs of other countries (not suggest that Jack is judging, just saying).

The Great Hall of the People is not similar to the city hall, but closer to the parliament. Every year, the Chongqing Municipal Government reports to the representatives of the People's Congress, similar to the members, on the work of the municipal government for the past year. In addition, each provincial-level unit usually has The Political Consultative Conference is a meeting where the government reports on its work to the other eight democratic parties outside the CCP and accepts review and suggestions. Of course, Western media usually say that this is a formality, a rubber stamp or something like that, but in terms of the constitution, The People’s Congress is the country’s highest authority, and its deputies have indeed included workers from all walks of life, including excrement workers, female textile workers, farmers, athletes, etc.

Industrialization requires a large workforce, and urbanization facilitates the transformation of numerous farmers into industrial workers. Urban settings offer easier access to infrastructure, logistics, and centralized healthcare and education services. For farmers aiming for prosperity, large-scale farming is the viable path since profits from grain are minimal and high grain prices can adversely impact the living standards of others. Therefore, reducing the number of farmers is essential. A smaller number of farmers can employ mechanization to cultivate large areas profitably, while the others can transition to factory jobs, earning wealth through industrial work.

Salut Jack!

Not nearly enough. A Scottish girl vowed to eat all the menus in China in three years. It's been seven months, and she hasn't even come out of Xinjiang. One KZreader, like her, planned to eat every menu in China in five years, and it's been more than three years, and he's still in Sichuan.
