The way Hutch unburdens himself telling his life story to people who die before he's finished makes me think of Robert Hays' character Ted in "Airplane" and the people chose to off themslves rather than continue listening to his stories about his relationship with Elaine.

Director DAVID LEITCH also was co-director on "JOHN WICK" and directed (among others) "ATOMIC BLONDE" and "BULLET TRAIN"!. Fun fact. First assasin killed in nursery house was played by director of this movie, and his wife played "no need to pay" girl. Fun fact 2: Christopher Lloyd asked the director to talk about the role. he said: "Your character is old and lazy so instead of constantly reloading you will just take a new gun, don't worry, we will give you light weight copies. Christopher replied him:" I'm not one of those actors who drink coffee from empty cups on the stage," and refused this copies.) Fun fact 3: In the first version of the script, the mafia was Korean, but the director said that he would not be able to qualitatively show the stereotypical gangsters of a nationality different from his own.

Easily one of the better action flicks to come out in recent years, and probably better than a lot of older ones too, especially a lot of under-the-radar ones like this kinda was. Bob Odenkirk went to incredible lengths to get in shape for this, and I believe he was determined to do as much of his own action as possible? Whether that's true or not, I reckon we can easily add him to the ever-growing list of comic actors who can play non-comedic, 'dangerous' characters incredibly well. Right alongside Heisenberg himself, Bryan Cranston, and guys like Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, and Jim Carrey

I've watched this a few times and the most mysterious character here is Becca's dad, Eddie. First, he shows Hutch more respect than anyone (save the daughter). Second, after the break-in he makes the comment "I'm thinking you did the best thing you could. You being you." Third, he doesn't seem remotely phased when Hutch drops his son like a sack of potatoes. Becca could have told her dad what she knew about Hutch's past but something is going on there.

If y'all want some more action comedy movies about assassins to react to, you should watch Mr. Right starring Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick. It actually has RZA in it too, and I think Mrs. Movies would love it since it has a similar vibe as Grosse Pointe Blank. The Matador starring Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear is also great. And Mr. & Mrs. Smith starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is pretty decent as well. For a non-comedy, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring Forest Whitaker is really good, and funnily enough RZA actually created the soundtrack for it and he has a cameo in it too.

@@romanxxxxyoutube Well, in this movie, Bob played an assassin employed by three letter agencies that specialized in tracking people down and killing them. In John Wick, Nobody was an assassin that tracked people down and killed them. Perhaps the name Nobody is a class of assassins that specialize in tracking people down and all use the same name, Nobody, to indicate their specialty? Whereas the Nobody in John Wick appeared to be freelance, Bob's Nobody was employed and contracted through the government. It seems in the John Wick movies that in their universe the government is well aware of the assassins guild. I mean, it's plausible. Also, the call at the end indicates to me that Nobody may have breached a "No more acting up if you get out of the business" clause.

If anyone is interested in an explanation about the card tattoo meaning (don't know accuracy), comment from someone else on another Nobody reaction (Nikki & Steven React) ... @NotJustPersian 5 months ago -If your talking about the tattoo of the "7 of Spades & 2 of Diamonds". Its actually a reference to the US DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency)'s Most-Wanted Members PIPC (Personality Identification Playing Cards) Protocol for the US led Coalition to easily identify Saddam Hussein's key players within the government after the invasion in 2003. The highest, most dangerous, and with the ut most importance were given the "Aces, Kings Queens, & Jacks" of all suits. While all other subjects who were affiliated and subject to the same targeting were given the "10-2" cards of all suits. But also you gotta think this was early on in the invasion and was very common and was widely known Troops played cards to pass the time so CO's and NCO's both alike figured it'd be perfect time to bring back an old Protocol of the DIA. -But another bit of added history here, what a lot of people don't know is Iraq wasn't actually where the use of the "playing cards" for PIPC originated from, In fact its had been used 3 times prior, THE FIRST EVER being throughout the American Civil War. Then during World War II following the Pearl Harbor Attack, Army Air Corps decks printed these "playing cards" with the silhouettes of German and Japanese fighter aircraft for the PIPC Protocol. The last use of these "playing cards" PIPC Protocol was during the Korean War. -To put it into more perspective though even though Targets were already divided and given respective playing cards, it goes beyond that. Because Each Suit of cards represented a specific group of people (in which depending on how its going to be to take them out they are separated accordingly). When you break that down, Its even furthermore widely known anyone Identified with any Spade card, its mere suicide going after that target no matter how many people you bring simply because of the blow back that'll come with. While Clovers Targets come after Spades, Hearts after Clovers, and Diamonds after Hearts. What I'm saying is Targets with a Spade or Clover playing card Identifier is a Suicide mission while Targets with a Hearts or Diamonds is still very dangerous just not as costly. Now its up to the viewer to presume which card came first, but based on how the "2 of Diamonds looks a bit faded compared to the 7 of Spades" I can almost say IMO, I would say the protagonist had completed a "2 of Diamonds" Target first then sometime at somepoint completed a "7 of Spades" Target forcing them into hiding with a new identity and a new life, one of which is clearly hidden from the family. I hope this helps anyone better understand kind of a bit more information surrounding the tattoo around the "Playing Cards", and if anyone dares to ask how or why I bothered to type this even though no one asked, well someone will eventually ask, and I come from a long line Military Family + I went to college for 2 years studying to become a history teacher, prior to dropping out and taking over a Family Business after somethings happened.

I first saw the trailer for this, but it didn't really go into much detail. It just looked like a guy with a past decides he's done being normal. That's part of this movie, but this takes it a step farther because it seems like he actually *wants* to go back to who he was. It's not the deepest movie, but it gives enough story to base a really fun movie around. Something about the quality of choreography makes for a REALLY fun time and movies like this, John Wick, etc. are just so good at making things look smooth and effortless.

I think the interesting thing about this movie is this character is from the government side of the assassination spectrum. John Wick is from the mobster side. Most are from the mobster side. This wasn't, which is pretty cool.

Great film. I like the fan theory that this film exists in the John Wick universe. It kind of makes sense if there's assassins of Wick's caliber then the government needs their own version as well. Don't need a film bringing the two together. Just enjoy the idea and mystery of possibly being connected.

If this movie was in the wick verse Hutch would represent the "other side". John is part of the underworld while Hutch is part of the government. Not as in this is the good side and this is the bad side but these are the two sides that make up the world. In an interview with Chad (don't as ke me to spell his last name from memory) he said the cop, jimmy, didn't interfere with John because there is a treaty between the high table and the government that lets each side police themselves as long as no civilians get caught up in it. The villain in the first Wick and in this are both mob bosses but not at the level of the high table. Vigo and his brother were clearly powerful but new york always belonged to the italian faction "Camorra".

This movie is called Nobody and in john wick there is a line "the fkn nobody is john wick" this movie is basically re-imagining of john wick what if he was retired with less drama he is old he ha a family. While john wick is totally serious this has alot of humor too.

Hutch got the business for free. The father-in-law had enough to retire on (from my assessment) without the gold. When the father-in-law dies, who do you think he will will the gold to? His daughter or his loser son? Buying the business with a big offer was more symbolic than pragmatic.
