Nobel laureate Robert Shiller on what's even better than amassing wealth

Oxfam recently issued a study stating the richest 80 people in the world own wealth equal to the bottom 50 percent of the population combined. In this web exclusive, Yale economist Robert J. Shiller says obtaining riches is not as inspiring as what it means to give it away.

Oxfam's gimmicky headline is manipulative and misleading, as usual. By level of richness, they're referring to wealth, not income. Some people with the least wealth in the world are graduates beginning lucrative careers. They spend all their current income and have student debts to pay off. They're not poor, they simply haven't accumulated any wealth yet. I love Robert Schiller though, and his recipe for happiness is spot on.

Don't agree with the first half but the second part not that bad. Spoken like a true socialist! Well done cbs! Big surprise!

Nothing in his discourse is of socialist nature.
