Americans must realise that their country cannot retain exceptionalism without the moral high ground, and it loses this moral high ground when a president is by definition not a war criminal simply because he is an American president. I hope and pray that Americans can grasp the opportunity to retain their greatness by a return to the rule of law and a literal beating of swords and shields into plow shears. We have a lot of work to do, but it can be painless with the right leadership and inspired decision making.

Mr Sea Turtle America and the civilized tradition of rule of law and government by the people and for the people, has earned it the reputation of being responsible and responsive to the dictates of justice and human rights. The coup in America by the military industrial complex fueled by the criminal Illuminati banksters and their Nazi Zionist whore media has destroyed this. America is no more... Unless the people can take back their country and the rule of law, America will fail dramatically and bring us all down. This is of course what your masters want... Unless Americans can wake up and grow a pair...

I'm not really sure (exactly) where you're coming from, but this sounds analogous to 'we're losing the country...' As for justice and human rights, you seem delude(?). The US, at the end of WW2, had about half the wealth of the world and thought it out to own the world because of this. Its Imperial agenda in the last 60 years (masquerading as a democratic liberator) has actually earned the country the reputation, rightful, as first place for terrorist aggression on other countries. Further, the US does not recognize the UN Charter for invading other countries, is a gross repeater of war crimes and it does not recognize the international war crimes tribunal. How you maintain its a leader in in justice and human rights makes me suspicious of your post.

it's interesting to recognize that we are living through a time where the current dominant empire of the world has more control than any preceding empires in history. 1000 years from now (if humans can last this long), this period of time will be looked back on in a similar fashion as we today look back on the romans during the height of their power. i dont think it's recognized how significant and unique a position the US has in world history, and as somewhat of a history buff, i find it fascinating to speculate on what future generations will think about the US when they study it's rise, and inevitable fall.

***** oh for sure it will be called an empire. US historians dont call it an empire because because of their definition of an empire is different from mine. they believe an empire is something where one nation conquers another and forces that nation under the government purview of the conquering nation. the US empire uses local governments who answer to the US to control countries, so it isnt simply "this is ours now do as your told", but rather "this is ours now so let's install some leaders who will do what they're told". the definition currently held, imo, is antiquated, and needs updating.

America's drive for profit at all cost, we see the transfer of production to China to increase short term profit. However the contradictions then set in, we see a rise in profits for the few but the loss of Americas industrial base. The rich get richer but at a cost of the economic strength of the country. So we see the spectacle of an outcry regarding the rise of Chinas industrial and military capacity as a direct consequence of Americas economic policy/free trade !

before accusing anyone of terrorism one must be careful because "terrorism" has be very well defined. Many-a-time, US foreign policy goes against the wishes of the population of a country that tries to influence. One must recall that in the past the US senate tried to pass anti-terrorism laws BUT thier high priced lawyers stated that the US would be in violation of said law! If that does not open your eyes then I do not know what will.

On the environment...why don't we, the people, just side step the government? If Congress can't decide what to do, why doesn't some brain at MIT or Harvard or some place like that put out a list saying "do this and don't do that"? We don't need the government to recycle, reuse, respect nature, drive an energy efficient car, etc. We should be hearing these things all of the time instead of wasting our time on celebrities and sports figures. When did we start needing the government's blessing on absolutely everything?

Because the corporations don't care and won't follow those advice. Only the government is powerful enough to enforce the rules. It is at the corporate level that counts, the effect of individual choices have little impact when compared to the global reach of the corporations. Also, you can't drive these "energy efficient cars" when the corporations don't MAKE them in the first place. That's part of the problem, there aren't enough choices for individuals to make a difference when the corporations offer limited selection based on what's most profitable - not what's best for society or the world.

World isn't changed by singular people, but by collective action. That is why the number one advertized virtue in capitalism is "individualism" - because if you don't team up with fellow human beings, you will be taken advantage of by those who have no qualms about uniting forces - the rich and the government!

I agree with others in the idea that religion is just a viral meme. I find the whole idea of stealing a person's entire life, for a promise of another life, is the most pernicious idea. I find Nietzsche's idea quite amazing, that those that yearn for another world, should just stop waiting and save the rest of us a bunch of grief.
