Facts

Love how hype he is. Confidence us great for the sport. That said he won't break that record of 19.19, not even 19.26. That 9.58 is in a different stratosphere.

He’s not going to break any records at the Olympics. I’d be surprised if he won the 100m. He’s not a lock for the 200m either but he’s the favorite and rightfully so

Well, I don't know about him not getting the W in the 100m. I mean, his competition doesn't seem to be faster than him at this point in time. Sure, tons of hype around Lyles, but he's not going up against the likes of Usain, prime Blake, prime Gay, prime Gatlin etc, he's going up against slower dudes...

I don't believe he believes he can break 9.58.

Looking at the numbers, Noah ran 19.52 in the '23 WC 200m Final after 3 rounds of the 100m & 2 rounds of the 200m which was slower than his 19.47 SB from a few wks prior @London DL & slower than his 19.31 PB from the '22 WC 200m Final where he only ran the 200m. Is he talking about running 19.10 in a Global 200m Final after 5 races in his legs or in a one-off DL race?!

Neither seems possible for him since his training method relies on having to peak for the Championships. Meaning he won't be at peak fitness to run as fast as he wants to before, during, and after the championships are done.

Mind you going after the record and over stretch yourself. Gold is good. People who break records don't go after records , they just hapends to break them. We are not machines, and we can injure ourselves from overworked. That's what happened to Blake, the Beast. He wanted to beat Bolt so much and overworked himself to injury. Look at bolt height and body structures? Good luck to you, and it's ok to want to do it.

currently they are not even breaking 10.00 that often with 0.0 Wind; Tebogo 100m 200m 400m times to check that is what is the future.. Lyles peaked already with 19.31.. and not running often under 19.46.. too small and not strong enough.

He talks about data, well here's some data for him: Tyson Gay split 6.38s at 60m in his 9.69s. Tyson Gay split 3.31s from 60...100m in his 9.69s. Lyles has never gone sub 6.43s at 60m. Lyles has never gone sub 3.37s from 60...100m. Meaning, he is slower than Tyson Gay everywhere and mind you, Tyson Gay just barely went sub 9.7s... Him getting that AR in the 100m seems a pipe dream.
