With the USA running 37.40 here, they just proved that their best way of winning at the championships does not need to include their absolute fastest athletes. They didn’t run Coleman, Bromell, Bracy, Kerley, Charleston, or Knighton, and yet they just posted a faster time than Canada (the second place team and 2022 world champions) have EVER run (and they did it in May). More important for the USA relays than having their absolute best athletes is having good handoffs, and with this race this group of runners just proved they can beat anyone in the world.

True. If I'm not mistaken. If any other nation ran this they'd be the 3rd best in history behind Jam(36.84) and USA(37.10). Another coincidence is that this time matched their old WR that was set back in 1992 and I believe was equaled in 1993.

After watching Knighton's 3rd leg last month, the USA team would be fools not to put him at third, it was unbelievable. With Knighton, the world record might topple.

That may be, but could it also be argued that to give themselves the best odds at the Olympics, the USA should just keep running this same crew who clearly have a good chemistry together? Adding in Knighton definitely increases their fastest possible time, but it also might make them more likely to make a mistake. The USA has paid the price for trying to put together a dream-team rather than a winning-team in the past.

The title of this video is ridiculous. Did Noah Lyles run all 4 legs for the 4x100? They were never behind before he got the baton so how is it he's responsible for the win? Sheesh. Give Lindsey, Bednarek and King their due.

Noah Lyles: 8.88 (Anchor) Kenny Bednarek: 8.95 (2nd Leg) Andre De Grasse: 8.96 (Anchor) Zharnel Hughes: 8.97 (Anchor) Source: World Athletics Website, but not sure if their splits are really accurate, but they have it on their website

USA can never win with its own ethnicity. And always depends on migrants performing for them. That why I still consider China to be number 1 spot in Tokyo Olympics.
