Drone work and music always make the video. Shows us the part of England that normally the tourist never sees

22:32 - Insulated Fish Plate - Used to isolate the end of a track section so the 'track circuit' tells the signals/man when a train is on the line. When they fail, trains get delayed while they fix it.☹
Awesome find's everyone and #amazing drone footage ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

That was a shunters pole which they use to couple up the goods wagons it through the big loop you found Kev I was a shunter Kev.
Arron saves the day
He boxeith a hinged lid is a label box offa goods wagon. The little slit on the front had a car saying where the wagon was going to and had come from and briefly what if contained. The box would have likely contained paperwork specifically for the load.
Hi Nigel. I used to work at a company that made the crossing and signalling parts for the railway. Here is some information about the white fishplate you found. They are to break the circuit in the track so that when a train passes over, it creates a circuit, allowing signalling to know where trains are. I also have a screenshot yo send you with dome more information. Looks like I can't send the screenshot via the phone.
Hello Nigel and Aaron. Hope you are having a good day
I think it would fun to know more about each of you - what you do when not magnet fishing, is the gear you wear waterproof, how you started, how you met, etc. Just little tidbits tossed into the content.
Hi 👋
Nigel. Be careful with your tummy pains. Could be a hernia but I hope not 🙏
Well done to you all

I got notified. One hour after! Oh well
13:30 - You may have an old guard rail spacer block from the days of bolt together parts. I just don't know what British ones looked like. When guard rails were just made from another piece of rail bolted alongside, there were blocks placed between the two rails to hold the distance apart. The two indented sides could be different amounts of wheel flange clearance for different applications.
some of the railway signals were worked by wire and that weight could be a counterweight ? w
curly bar is a shunters pole end
Good day everyone
I have a feeling that -OH DEAR and FANCY THAT were said when the magnet got stuck!

A rubber market would have come in handy to get your magnet out from in-between that ring
Now you have your cannon to go with all those cannon balls!

Welcome 👊
Maybe a club hammer and a bit of 2"x2" to drift the magnet out next time? Never heard of "Lodestone", which is what magnets were made of before they were refined into electro-produced magnets. The plastic coated fish plates were/are used where you have gaps in rails for points, but as automatic signals work by compressing the amount of power going through the running rails, you have to allow for insulated block joints, so as to not muck up signals.

What a the music you use?
loved the video but aaron spoilt by hogging the camera
I often wonder as I watch your videos if, somewhere out there, there's a criminal, not doing crime at the moment, peacefully sitting at home, also watching your video. He sees you pull something out, like a gun or a stolen bike or something, and he quietly says to himself "uh-oh...".😂 Have you ever had any trouble in those regards? Incidentally, I'm not from the UK, but I assume BT, your perennial co-star, stands for British Telecom? So, what, those cashboxes come out of phone boxes? There can't be that many of those these days, can there? They certainly seem to be being phased out here in Sydney.
