@@joshuawilliams7653 Depends on who you mean by "we". You'd better direct your comment at the younger generation - Igor Majoros in this very forum, for example - who also made the conversation about which INDIVIDUAL player has the most championship rings. It wasn't even like that in the '80's and '90's. No idea when it started, but, it was definitely after that. And, I'm not so sure it was LeBron fans who started the Jordan's-competition-was-weak talk. If anything, I think it was the other way 'round. Jordan fans and fanboys just straight-up have a problem with James and are always moving the goalposts whenever he gains ground in "the debate". Notice how we never hear anyone complain about the Lakers (Magic, SPECIFICALLY) not having to face stiff competition in the West whilst they dominated the 1980's.

As for the Bubble Championship, people forget that the Lakers had to deal with the death of Kobe during the season. That could have easily broken the team. Not to mention that it was AD’s first year on a team that hadn’t even made the playoffs the previous season. Both of those situations were far more difficult than any of Jordan’s championships.

And I can promise you you don’t wanna start a debate on what the East looked like through all of LeBron’s time in it. But do so at your own risk. “The East was weak” A, is just anyone refusing to acknowledge that LeBron was just that good, and there are plenty of numbers and games I can reference to back that up, and B, a terrible argument because there were the same number of other of what the public would define as “good teams” in the East in Jordan’s era as there were in LeBron’s. Just sounds like moving the goal post to me. Or just an attempt to leave yet another thing out about Jordan’s career.

Eventhough Tim Duncan was still a great player in that Finals but anyone who has eyes and watch him play knew he wasn't the same player and no longer in his prime. It just goes to show how great Duncan was. Duncan was no longer the focus of the offense. He passed the baton to Tony Parker and the offense run through Parker. Likewise, several years later when Parker was old and no longer in his prime, he passed the baton to Leonard who was emerging as a superstar. The Spurs offense then ran through Leonard. Nick Wright is really good at using those things to support his argument but it is very disingenuous on his part. It is very deceptive. It is like if you look at the Stats of Two QBs without watching them play or look at the team they play for and you see one QB with a much better stats you immediately assume that QB is superior. But then you reveal the QB, ain't no one on the planet is thinking Kirk Cousin is better than Aaron Rogers.

The Heat were a weak team in comparision to all time Eastern Conference champions of the past. Like this 2020 Heat team probably loses to any Eastern Conference Champion in the 2010s. Jimmy had a phenomenal run, but he's not a superstar. This Heat team beat a Bucks team that was more occupied with the BLM than playing, and a Celtics team that barely got by a superstarless Raptors squad. The East was competitive, but no team was really that great tbh. Nobody even believed the Heat would win 2 games in the Finals, I'll give them props for that, especially with their injuries.

They beat Barkley and the crew that had 59 wins. They beat MVP David Robinson and the 63 win Spurs. That in a single run is incredible not to mention how they were on the road all the time. They beat the 3rd, 2nd and 1st team in the West by wins which was also by the league in general and after on, they swept the 1st seed of the East. It literally doesn’t get better than that. Not to mention Hakeem’s individual challanges. Karl Malone in round 1. He wasn’t guarded by him but he did guard Barkley a lot in that 2nd round and it came to the point where Barkley was not comfortable going to the paint which is his whole scoring. He humiliated MVP David Robinson 1 on 1 and after on, he battled with Shaq and was clearly the best player on that court.

Two things LeBron will always have over Jordan is that he came back from 3-1. Mike never went down 3-1. Guess that’s his fault for not allowing it? Second is Lebron dominants Jordan in finals seventh game in stats. Oh wait, Jordan never allowed a seventh game. I guess we should hold those two against him?

@@DAS63 MJ made Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson the people that we now know. One of the main points that people say Lebron has over MJ is that Lebron makes his teammates better, but people conveniently forget to mention that MJ has the most assists in Bulls franchise history. Combine that with the fact that the Bulls offense during Jordan's time wasn't focused on him passing, can we really say that MJ isn't the reason that Scottie Pippen became the player that he became?

2016 was one of the hardest, 2020 definitely wasn't. Two reasons: 1) all the weird things about the bubble (no home court, out of routine, not seeing your family, etc) make it an unusual championship but they don't count as real disadvantages because EVERYONE had those same disadvantages. His opponents were handicapped in the same ways he was. And 2) Not only were the Heat not one of the best finals teams even before Dragic and Bam got injured, but the other teams the Lakers faced in the playoffs (Blazers, Rockets and Nuggets) were also not strong contenders and not at 100%, all had key players injured or coming back from injury. So I'm sorry, love Bron but that's a ridiculous claim to me.

The toughest chips were: 1) 1994 Rockets 2) 2011 Mavs 3) 2003 Spurs Funny enough they were all Texas teams. People tend to forget the 2003 Spurs but at that point, it was really just Duncan with a VERY young Parker and Ginobili, and an ancient Robinson backing him up. It wasn't really a team that was meant to win a title. But they somehow beat a young talented Suns squad in the first round, then they beat the Shaq-Kobe Lakers. Then they went against the 60-win Mavs with Nash and Dirk. Then they went against a super underrated Nets team with J-Kidd, K Martin, Jefferson. To me, that's a tough matchup almost every round in relation to the talent the Spurs had.

Does anyone old enough actually realize how good Seattle was in the 90's? Does anyone realize how hard the 2011 Mavericks road the the title was? What LBJ did was amazing. He does not have the two hardest finals wins. The bubble was hard af, but they seemed to get a Heat team who was severely wounded and outgunned.
