    I think you Can add the ship speed increase mod back in as you’ve proven your ships can safely leave atmosphere without cheesing through the speed mod. Would make those planet jumps a bit easier without the drive.

    I agree. I have one that increases the limit to 500 and makes it so much better. I'd be careful going beyond that though. it's hard to judge your speed by looks alone.

    Even 200mps max is a huge fun-factor upgrade. Just gotta be careful on re-entry, especially with heavy loads.

    I prefer the unlimited speed mod for more realism.. I tend to stay under 600m/s anyway

    @@SirBlmp that's fair. I forget to check my speed often which is why I still have a cap on it. I remember accidentally slamming into earth's moon at 1200 m/s. It was... interesting.

    I like this plan on releasing this series and the co-op one on alternating weeks, I just love this series. When I first discovered it I binged the whole thing and every episode since then I watched as soon a possible.

    For the doors, how about just setting up airvents to vent the hangar instead of having to deal with adding another door. As for the ship not trunning to a ship, it the turrets on the bottom. They have a bounding box that when you convert to station those boxes are in the ground so the game consideres that to be in voxel.

    I appreciate the advice about that turret. I was pretty confused for a while. And honestly I plan on doing the depressurization with air vent, the door is just there to make doubly sure that if I jump the gun or anything that I don’t just “get away with it.”

    I do like that this allows atmosphere recovery rather than venting everything. Even if its almost free its still power and a mine that should be making fuel instead

    I believe you can add sensor to your ship and set it to detect front asteroids with some red alarm lights in your ship to notice you would be cool

    Could probably just have the sensor hit a timer block to put the reverse thrusters on override or something. Just auto-break. :)

    Does he have a mod increasing sensor range? Cause by default it's only like 50m, so when traveling at 100m/s that's like a half second of warning.

    As bernmaddo pointed out, the range of a sensor is too short to provide adequate warning. You can however use the camera block with a programmable block to detect distant objects.

    Moon gravity really is great in Space Engineers. It's just enough for there to be an up and a down, and a stable surface to walk on and the fixed navigation points of land. But not enough for small mistakes and mishaps to be unforgivingly explosive. And you can move a lot of weight around. The moon is my favorite Space Engineers area to play in.

    MadMavn here a ideal for you accident prone finger of your, don’t use pre-made cockpit but self made one only this as a main advantage that one should you accidentally leave your seat you will be within your self made cockpit and not space One of downside is that it’s gonna be a tad bulkyer then the pre made one.

    I’ll have to do some testing to make sure that I can still place blocks through the glass of the cockpit, but if I can, then I think that’s a great idea!

    Ok option B then use the cockpit with a back door access and create a small sas with oxygen and get in the cockpit from there only. @Brian Ronald thanks for the info.

    You could also use the light armor panels to have different colors on the inside and outside of a base.

    When using the 2nd door to vent the room with the hangar doors you could always mount one into the floor and have it vent into the voxels, if you use a centered door it should have enough of a gap to allow air to pass under another block and give you a minimal gap. You might also want to mention it on the mod page since im sure a lot of other people are having the same issue.

    Re: recording crash. You can save in mkv format which better survives crashes then convert to mp4 if that's your preferred format. Because mp4 and mkv are just containers for the streams you don't have to transcode just re-encode, which is fast. OBS (Studio anyway) has options to do this built-in.

    30:05 This is my biggest problem in SE. I'm very comfortable at making ships, after 2000hrs you kinda get good at making really weird shapes work and look good... But ground bases (and to a lesser extent, stations) are my biggest weakness. If I'm on a planet with O2, then it's not even a brick, just a small square platform with all my LCDs, access to the grid cargo, with all my functional blocks placed wherever they'll fit (out of sight, out of mind lol). If I'm on an O2less planet, then it will just be an ugly brick 100% of the time. It's so discouraging having such a pretty ship next to a spaghetti mess of functional, exposed blocks :( P.S: I bet the 0.25g feels SOOO good after being on Helghan for so long lol. Hyped for Season 2! :D

    my biggest problem with SE is the "ghost image" issue with rendering. esp. visible with grass and asteroids. if you get far enough away, their "low poly" versions pop back up in the original space / dimensions. thus holes fill themselves and grass pops up through blocks etc.

    When travelling between worlds slowboat style, I recommend that you put an outrigger spar pointing forward on front of your ship (10-20 blocks long, with a crossbar). This will usually prevent you from plowing your living spaces into an asteroid, in the rare instance when you run into one. ;) As someone that has "lived" inside a large ship travelling between worlds for almost 8 years now, I can say I have regretted having to make repairs, more than I have regretted the time to add and remove a shield.

    I'm sure others have told you by now, but just in case I will as well. Grids have an invisible box around them. You can see it when you go to paste a grid in. If that grid is converted to station while any of that box is in voxel, you will not be able to convert back into a ship until the voxel is dug out of the boxes area. This is a safety thing to keep players from converting grids that are partially in voxel, which can cause clang and game crashes. There really isn't need to covert it to a station anyways. I believe as long as you are locked in ant fashion, such as landing gear or connectors on a stationed grid, it should treat the ship as a static grid. But don't quote me on that. This is just based on my experience with flying ships that have wind turbines to charge them while they are parked. They only work on static grids and seem to work when I park with landing gears and connectors to a static grid or voxel

    I'm friends with Zardo and he just in the last couple weeks showed a concept connector passageway with a shield in the opening to allow airtightness without needing a door. Not sure what his plans are with it but it's nice to see his work get featured in a video

    I think modifying the evermore to be a hydro ship was a great idea, even if you could've kept it the same or put a couple atmos on there, it's in keeping with tradition to endlessly overhaul the evermore to reach greater heights

    With convert to station and back it uses the box the block occupies not just the block itself. So in your case the bottom turrets are considered a 3x3x3 box. So even though the gatlings dont touch the ground the box it occupies is in the ground. This also is a pain for catwalks, armor plates etc since they are flat but still take the entire box. I usually fix it by flying around with a weld tool to see the box and if it intersecs the ground I just go excavate the area until its free. It is a huge pain trying to free an invisible box but doable once you know what to look for.

    for the door pressurization, you could use vents in the airlock/hanger to depressurize the bay prior to opening the door? as for convert to ship, SE can be wonky about grids sitting on the ground because it counts any voxel in the bounding box of the armor as being in the ground.

    If you power down your ship, Reavers will disengage. Just make sure you're in a pressurized environment before powering down.

    I had the problem with walking at speed ONCE, now, like the ISS i have [ladders] on the walls. Came in handy when I had to land vertical with no H2 to fly.

    Don't convert to station, the mag locks being connected to the ground already turn the ship into a static grid. The station convert should only be used in space or on something that you don't plan to be moving because the game has a bad habit of not letting you switch back which will require a copy/paste according to Splitsie.

    A few days ago, I converted a ship in space to a station and couldn't convert back to ship. I'm guessing Keen may have made that old bug angry again somehow.

    Another excellent 1st episode. So since you can't really build outside how about building a "box" so you can build modular buildings that you can then air lift out and attach using merge blocks replacing the merge blocks so you keep your threat level low for reavers but I think that would be a nice little challenge modular production habitats and living accommodation etc

    One of the things I've been wanting to see is just... a massive hangar, you always seem to make them a bit small imho. You're on an ICE planet, it's not like you'll run outta air, put like 20 vents and maybe a large ship airlock... ( I'm like 8 minutes in, you haven't made anything yet - here's hoping!)

    I have not looked to far in the comments but here ya go. You could not convert back to a ship due to having a ship docked to it. You can convert to station with vehicles docked but you can't convert to ship with vehicle docked. Hope that helps in the future.

    A block mod you might like for base designs is federal industrial adds some nice struts and works well with dlc catwalks.

    Your problem with converting baco to ship is because even at least one block had it's 1 cubic meter volume inside voxel. Basically you can't use magplate as landing gears and turn the ship into a station. But unless you need to use a safe zone you don't need to turn the ship into a station.

    am sure there is a mod to build you a temporary Air Mask.. for such games...with limited capcacity and O2 bottles for the mask.. so it has about 2 minutes of breathable air till you get.. and go to mine or go outside a larger capacity bottle made for 3 to 5 minutes.. and an mask indicator and a voice to inform you about your air capcity in your HUD.

    At around 25:30 I think that you can also make it to when the hanger door opens there will be a vent that will depressurize the room and when the hanger door closes the vent will repressurize the room. (I hope you understand what I am saying)

    Reavers can only find you if you have an antenna that's broadcasting. Found that out a little too late for some of my ships, Good luck.

    When the bug happens where it doesn't show the block your trying to build while in a ship. A quick temporary fix is get out, switch hand tools, then get back in. 22:30

    You can't convert to a ship if the station has any of its grid cubes embedded in voxels. This could include lights, armour panels, even possibly the turrets. THey might look like they're a couple of metres clear, but the game doesn't check for collisoins, just voxels within cubes.

    Havent watched this episode yet, hovewer about the lack of jump drives you have mentioned in previous episode. I have a suggestion that would look really cool with your main ship. What about making a space ship attachement which you can disengage before entering the gravity field. Like the one in the Star wars - Hyperdrive Docking Ring?

    I think the reaver mod works off detecting antenna, until you get one set up you should be safe most of the time unless it get too close.

    In regards to corrupted footage. The way to fix that is to not record to MP4 but to MKV and you can use the in app tool of OBS to REMUX to MP4. MKV’s don’t fail if the recording stops prematurely. Much less chance of losing footage. Because if (for some odd reason like disk space) your MKV to MP4 convert fails, just try again. Good episode though.

    I can attest to the low hydrogen lol build a ship forget about putting hydro tanks on stock pile with less than 1% and you become a keyboard warrior instantly getting it connected :) We are using those air tight spin doors on the server we are on.. love them!!!!

    You should get a speed mod that increases the speed limit of your player so you can walk around on your ship at max speed!

    Soon Archan79 will be able to fix the air tightness of the gates. Once they release the SEUT plugin they can fix it but till then the software isnt available

    I personally think that you should maybe move from no suit to minimal suit. Let yourself have oxygen, but maybe crank up the consumption rate so that you need an oxygen tank to stay outside for more than 30 seconds. If you consumed oxygen at the rate that flying consumes hydrogen on earth then that would be a good balance, I think.

    You've probably figured this out already but regarding recording formats. Recording in MKV will produce most of the same features as MP4 but MKV are not dependent on having the end of the video properly closed like MP4, this will allow for usable files left over in the event the recording software crashes and the recording file suddenly cuts off.

    for the problem of your ship going so fast that you cannot go forward, You can put a remote control on your big ship and turn on the antenna for 200m, that way you can remote control and slow your ship down. Or you can just put a control seat at the rear so instead of going to the front you can o to the rear to pilot it.

    Yes the npc ships realy dock with a station. Looks great but i dont know if they actually take or deliver stuff

    If you are traveling withing your ship and suddenly your character gets all funky and you cannot navigate anymore, find a control panel, go to the cockpit and turn on dampeners from there.

    0:26, You shouldnt complain about the storms since it Increases the Oxygen WHILE the storm is Raging. The fact that your HUNTED by the Lightning is a Whole other matter.

    Truthfully for the area's without Oxygen in them, you should allow a Closed Space Suit, but NO Oxygen Tank. gives you 2 min of Air to get where your going, mine it and GO BACK.

    Maybe build a "VR design studio" then do your designing in a white box world (like in Major Jon's youtube videos), and use a projector to build your designs in the survival world.

    I've had similar problems with not being able to see a blocks preview image. If you ever find out I'd be delighted to know how you managed it. Maybe PCU or block limits...

    Your turrets are technically underground and prevents from turning it into a ship, that is an old bug but I'm not 100% sure if that's the cause here.

    It's kinda a pity you didn't build a weld wall under this boat, could have had a preplanned small bunker to just deploy giving you a medroom and stuff
