I have the same 7.00 multimeter. Those things work great. Mine is black, but they also come in yellow. Harbor freight tools. Or E Bay. Very thorough video. I just took ownership of a mint 2006 Ninja 250 bought at auction that just clicks when turned on. This will help me troubleshoot it much better. It's great. I can rewind and watch again and again till i see what i need to do. Thank God people like this gentleman put these films on to help us all fix things. One of the few good thing to come out of this damn internet...KZread tutorial video's and a community of good people leaving helpful comments!

Great informational video. Not many people can go in depth about tests and what they do. You did a great job explaining loaded circuit tests over a resistance test. I've gotta test this one myself and see why I dont have spark.

Hey brother thanks for the video! This helped me out a lot, checked everything you said to, had power at the spark plug boot but it is very low, pretty sure my cdi box is bad checked all wires and they are good! Thanks a lot!

I went to subscribe and realized I did almost a year ago. Ended up buying a new bike and let the ninja sit, just wrecked it so now im going to test out what I watched a year ago. I literally was gonna say the same comment too haha good video man very informative better than most ive watched with this issue

I had this exact same issue with my 1984 Honda Sabre. When ever the bike got warm it would misfire. Turned out the pick up coil was bad. Replaced it and the issue went away.

What does it mean if you have 12 volts coming out of the top plug on the coil also?

Wow man. All super condensed with awesome info and no conventional KZreadr filler/ cinematic bullshit. Liked and subscribed. No joke you should do this format on every bike that comes through the shop. You already fixed the problem and THEN gave us the run through with procedures/values straight from book … we didn’t have to hear you talk about what you thought it was for 10 mins and why in the beginning, we didn’t have to wait 20 mins watching you tear it down, we didn’t have to skip the 10 mins on how a multimeter works and your voice isn’t Scotty Kilmer level annoying af. Need help. I do not get any spark. I changed the cdi box and the pick up sensor. Stator is testing good. Coils are good since i was able to force them to spark the way you showed in the vid. I cleaned the terminals and still no spark. Something is not sending signal to send a spark to the plugs.

I have a question can a magnet near the regulator cause a bike not to spark. Cuz ot was runninf fine until one day i was driving it and out of nowhere it turned off. Its never turned back on. And i pretty much changed everything but the cdi. Just wondering

Hey, so I was in an accident with a 2010, Ninja/250r. Long story short, I fired it up and it started, at sitting for 2½ months. But I let the bike on. Turned it off. Turned it on and off again. The next day, it would not turn on again. I did as you instructed in the video with the coils and I got not chispa!-(Spanish for "spark"). I just cannot get the bike back on. Any suggestions?

Hey I’ve got this same bike and I have an issue with the tachometer. It tends to turn off after the bike has been running a couple minutes. I’ve checked the wiring to the tachometer and the battery is good. Someone suggested that it might be a faulty cdi but I don’t know how to check that. Does anyone have any input?

Im having issues with my 2005 ninja 250. At first i had a broken spring inside my starter motor that was bad so i ordered the piece and changed it and then it was turning over great. I took the boots off the plugs and took the plugs out, put them.back on the boots and had them on the engine block and turned it over and got spark from each side. Put it all back in and took the airbox out and cleaned carbs and put the carb back in but left airbox out. When i turn over im.getting fuel to the carbs but still wont fire up. Checked plugs again and they were dry so they are working and the bike isnt flooded. Desperately wanting to ride this bike as ive never done yet because i iust got it. But any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Also i can spray starter fluid into carbs and still wont start.

I'm not sure if you still use this channel, but with mine I was having a vac issue. Found it, plugged it, bike fired right up and idled strong, but as soon as the throttle was blipped it would die. Just thinking of other issues I wanted to see what the plugs looked like( I just traded for this bike about 4 days ago) and they looked pretty bad. Being it was late no stores were open so I just cleaned them off, wire brushed them and slapped them back in.....now I have no start at all. Not even with a shot of starting fluid. I'm not sure what happened. Idk if cleaning the plug messed with the electrode or what. Going to grab new plugs on my way home from work and test to see if I have spark. I'm going to follow this video as well and see if I have one of these issues, I just found it weird it wouldn't fire back up at all just from pulling them and cleaning them off.

Hi, thanks for a great video. I have a Kawasaki GPZ 500s from 1994. I am in driving school now to get a driver's license and have bought my first motorcycle. I have a problem. I do not get spark and struggle to figure out the problem. I have checked everything that you show in the video. I have replaced the battery, CDI, ignition switch, coil's, wires for spark plugs, spark plugs. all parts I have replaced are new. has not replaced junction box, pick up and start relay. start motor goes around, so would not think there is anything wrong with start relay. have also checked the clutch switch and support switch so it seems to work. There's a bzzz sound coming from the junction box, so I'm wondering if that's a problem? Is there any place you think the problem is?

I am getting no spark also from 07 ex250-f and can't figure it out thinking it's 100 ohm resistor on ignition my buddy came over and removed my ignition thinking we could hot wire I went to wrecking yard got salvaged ignition but I see no resistor on it and I can't figure out which wire to hook it to mine has no gray wire I don't know ready to drag it out back and set fire to it never have been able to fix nothing my whole life no matter how hard I tried I'm so sick of shit

im having same issue on my 94 zx600e i drove it in the rain blew main fuse had no power at all had to get a power wire stright to batt to the fusebox it ran till i got to my buddys then i drove home and thats the last time she ran i got a new fusebot still nothing wtf idk what to do it has all hte lights on and no spark i need my bike fixed !

Hey man your video helped so much. so I got an 04 ninja 250 that I traded a crf50f pit bike for straight up. guy told me starter was out, cleaned it and it worked fine. next I hit it with starter fluid and waited for it to start. then nothing so I checked spark and left side gets nothing. coil is good but no signal to it. crank sensor tests fine and still no signal on that one side. will light up with fake signal but not when cranking. You think it's the box? Can I test the box at all? Like swap the wires in the loom our on the coils and see if the green wire sparks the left coil? any help would be great, I'm in debt to you already, and I thank you sir.

Hey, Bro. I was in a horrible accident three months ago. I am fine now, broke so many bones I call them parts.... Anyway. I watched you video because I turned on my 2010 250r Ninja, the Special Edition, and it was fine. I turned it on and off. All good. The next day I tried to turn it on and it would spark. Lights, signals, horn, everything works. But it will not turn on.... Any suggestions?
