This was not enough for me. I had some warnings on my project, so I also had to click them and xcode automatically adjusted the project, then it worked

I don’t even have an Add Additional Simulators option…have you ever come across that issue?

in my case It's didnt help. one moment: if you have option in xcode to choose target 14 - it means that this xcode version must support it
