I discovered the channel a few days ago and finally finished watching all of the videos. What an absolute pleasure. It's genuinely inspiring to see someone so avidly enjoying their life and spreading love for their community. I came for the bikes but stayed for the life goals. This has been profoundly impactful to me. The thought that has occurred to me the most is "For the price of my monthly car payment, I'd much rather just bike around and spend that on great food, coffee... and more bikes."

When biking’s been central to life, I’ve been more active, peaceful, and analog. And I’ve noticed that I appreciate the best life has to offer when I’m using a bike with a basket. How could such a simple utility improve life? Mostly, it keeps me more active, which makes me feel better, both physically and emotionally. It makes me feel more connected to my community and the people within it, since it’s much easier to make eye contact, say hello, and even exchange a few words of greeting when not sealed up inside of a moving box. *Every bicycle ride is a miniature holiday* The empty basket reminds me that there’s always something I can take to a friend on a short visit-a card, some flowers or fruit from the garden-or a few groceries, some bread or coffee, that I can pick up and bring home without firing up the car. It suggests the possibility of packing a lunch or snack, of throwing a book or magazine into the basket and heading off to a quiet corner of the town or park bench for a mini-vacation. The bike is often the best part of my day, as ProbablyRiding suggests. He’ll often take the long way around or a new route to his favorite coffee shop, stop to take a photo of someone’s flowering trees (with his beloved bike parked in front of them), or bring along some hot tea in a thermos and pour it into a nice vessel to enjoy a river or park view. *Your bike’s identity* Have you named your bike? I have. Where’s it from, and where has it been? Where does it live now, and how often do you have your bike serviced? Where do you stow and retrieve your bike, and where do you like to take it? I keep mine in the garden. It’s visible from the kitchen window, and I like to take it to visit friends and nearby stores. Having a bike with a basket is a cheap, fun way to quickly get back to the good stuff. Fresh air, freedom, and a purpose for your ride. Much like being a kid with a bike. For all of these reasons (and probably many more), I intend to have a bike with a basket until I die. Even if it eventually become recombinant, electrified, an oversized tricycle, or some combination of these.

Damn, dude! Really got me thinking about some of the deep philosophical and existential things in life with this one. The life and death of a neighbourhood. The decay and restoration. The lives past and future. The endless change. But always making sure to find time in the present for the simple joys in life: riding your bike, good coffee, good food, good company. Thanks for another joyous video 💚 Ps. People really just throwing out antique mirrors and furniture to the curb? 😮 that hurts my soul 😅

I just completed watching all of your KZread videos in 2 days as I am recovering from a knee procedure. A couple of notes. Everybody is slim - there were maybe 1-2 overweight people I noticed among the countless passing by throughout your journeys. Seoul is remarkably clean. The casual meandering of your bike riding is, as you might say, glorious and a welcome antidote to elitist cycling. Clean bowl club for life. The ride, coffee, lunch, coffee, errand or meetup sounds like a lovely weekend routine to be repeated again and again. Cheers.

I've just gotten into bikes over the last couple of months - mostly using free city bikes in my city. My rides have lasted for around 20-30 minutes tops as I commute or meet with friends. As I've been researching bikes I find most of the options are geared towards fast, drop bar road bikes - which are nice! but seeing your approach and philosophy to riding has been a wonderful breath of fresh air. Thanks for doing what you do

I knew it was the Orient at first, but I was only guessing South Korea for a while. Seeing the English on the signs gave it away. Those narrow streets with the hills and the alleyways are intriguing to me. Makes me wonder about the street lighting. My shortest rides tend to be out to the supermarket and back. About two miles each way, so around 15 minutes total. Especially so when it's 100 degrees F, plus or minus, outside.

I've had different bicycle commutes ranging from 18km one way, 36km round trip on a trekking bike, no ebike, and I work three shifts and ride during the winter months with ice and snow. When its night I observe the constellations and the polar star. I ride north to my home and it takes about one hour of low stress bicycling. Now my commute is 2km one way and I can experience rain, headwinds, and looking at the Black Forest hills and mountains which I have hiked. My coworkers drive their cars 1-2 km and wonder why I bicycle. They say I am not a young man, but I am 58. They are in their 40s and a few are younger. One guy rides, too. For me it's easier to bicycle. Parking, traffic, are not a concern. Where is this place you are bicycling?

Love the small roads and back lanes for pottering around. Pootling even. If you're ever in places like Chiang Mai, North Thailand or Jogjakarta, Indonesia there are endless backroads in those cities. I was once called Raja Jalan Tikus by some Indonesian locals as I knew my way around seemingly complicated small roads. Oh the name. Pretty obvious. King of Rat Roads. Roads, lanes, directions that only rats know of. Also. Any ride is better than no ride. Period.
