NO PROCESSED FOODS FOR 30 DAYS! 🍟 (kitchen audit, grocery shopping, farmer's market)
After reading several books and listening to multiple podcasts about the issues of processed foods, Brooks and I decided to eliminate them from our diet for 30 days! We’re excited to dive into this topic, and are so grateful that you’re here for the ride!

Man, I was all in until they are ok with ultra processed as long as it's plant based. 🙄🙄 Processed is processed and plant based foods are some of the worst offenders.

You got that right! 😬
This is such a great video- the recognition to social issues and the accessibility of this is super thoughtful. So glad you’re doing this, and I can’t wait to learn more! “Beets me” haha

Thanks so much friend!! Happy to have had you on the journey!
I started eating clean when I had a health scare. There are very few things you can actually buy from a supermarket that don't contain crap. It's definitely worth doing though. I've never had more mind clarity and body energy.

Totally! You really understand how horrible these foods are for you once you cut them out !
Your dad would be so proud. Love following you and your journey Lauren💓
Good going. It's nice to see a young couple eating healthy. Remember fast food is also very processed and uses seed oils repeatedly. Cooking from scratch will be the next task. I recommend two items: Instant Pot and Air Fryer. You can get a 6 qt instant pot and add an air fryer lid.
So excited to follow you two on this journey!!
So excited y’all have ventured out into the youtube community!! you’re the most positive welcoming people into the sustainable lifestyle❤️

Yay! Thank you!
Today I was suddenly turned off at the grocery store. I looked carefully at labels and chose the ones with less ingredients and avoided high fructose corn syrup and tons of preservatives. Many items I usually buy just gave me an “ick” factor. I’m starting to opt for more produce and other Whole Foods. Many people are becoming inspired, I hope we can move away from so many harmful chemicals in our food. Cheers to a healthier USA
New sub here! Thank you:) I am so tired of feeling tired. I am middle age lady who is in menopause & need a diet overhaul. I am starting with no added sugar. I am really trying to have a very simple diet!

You should give it a go!! Such a fun experiment
Wow I'm surprised you don't have more followers. This is an amazing project. I will stay tuned. Subscribed! I know it's easy to get angry at food companies. They don't care if our families get diabetes heart disease and cancer. It's horribly unethical and a movement needs to be started. I am happy to join it.
Love this... can't wait to follow along❤❤❤

Great idea!
This is so awesome
I'm looking forward to following you two on this journey! I want to decrease highly processed foods from my household as well. And I'm curious if you're able to get a ballpark idea of the difference in cost for the month.
What were the ingredients in the " impossible burger" that was in your freezer?
You can have salt and seasonings just eat fresh foods minimum added ingredients.
So are the vegetables and grains from farmers markets not sprayed with chemicals?
MARGARINE? best part hahaha and so so cool to see this!
Omg you guys kill me lol “just sober for the month..” “Cool” “Cool”

Highly recommend the book Unprocessed by Megan Kimble. Read her book for a case study i worked on a few years back. She does the same experiment for a year to understand our food system and what “processed” means

wow that sounds perfect!! I will give it a look!!
What town/city can you not buy non processed foods in???
Thank you so so much. Im in canada and beenntrying to fimd like minded people to talk about this and its extremely taboo. You can easily get attacked personaly on social media for trying to talk about how processed food is creating health issues. Its so difficult here to find organic and fresh produce. Everything comes from mexico, california, danmark and other far countries. And its super expensive too. Drs dont even know that processed food is inflamatory. Where do you live ? I f I wasnt chronicaly ill and could work to save money Id move in a cpuntry where healthy food is esily accessible. My goal today is to find where that place would be. If you know let me know.
Are you guys into thrift shopping as well. The xlothing industry is just as messed up as the food industry.
what was the result? 1) Blood Pressure 2) glucose 3) Triglycerides 4) Lipids 5) etc ????
We love to cook from scratch and grow our veggies, tastes better i think but thats me:) ,
YEWWWW
"force fed" is a bit of a strong word...
12 days for me and now idk what to make
Wonder bread you wonder what's in it
Wow i really appreciated your effort!! I guess it’s not that easy in the us where capitalism is really present

yes, it definitely makes eating a lot more difficult than it should be...
if it has a label dont buy it
So you prioritised not eating meat over not eating processed food
Can we be farmers market friends?

Of Course!!!
The way you acknowledge privilege and indigenous people. I want to listen to you. Have started the thirty days of no processed food . The supermarket shopping took a long time as I looked at food labels . New Zealand is not as bad as the US but it is potentially on its own .

Also - absolutely shocked at the foods I love the most for cheat days and how the ingredients list takes up the whole back of the packet 😩
When i read what xanthum gum actually is, put me right off.
Unfortunately the “plant based” products that replace meat are way worse for you than meat ever will be. So very processed and lack much of the nutrients that meat does.
Chill with ur virtue signaling
Sorry u are too annoying the first 10 secondw
This was so woke that i had to stop watching

you when people eat healthy: 🤬🤬🤬
so woke. would be an ok video if you took away all the virtue signaling
Making bread defeats the purpose of this video. Bread is a processed food even if its homemade

Look up what ultra processed means. It does not mean “cooked” or “baked” or “kneaded”.
