As someone who doesn’t have this license this song makes me feel seen and also gives me an existential crisis.
God I hope this gets re-done for the album.. Genuinely bop to this song multiple times a week...

I'm 35 and this is highly relatable
Her voice is beautiful
This low key bullied me into getting my license
man there needs to be more Julia Robertson music out there, her voice is brilliant
I lived in Los Angeles like this. I did get my license at 21 but I just did not drive until I moved to the boondocks at 25...then I was "What the bleep! Driving is fun!" 53 now
Lyrics: I'd really like you to know I'll have to catch a train to your show I'm an adult aged twenty five I failed my driving test 18 times I'm a burden to my mates I make them drive me to all my dates I know it's something that they all hate But I'm never gonna get my P plates I failed on my test the first time # I'll be your instructor, Graeme Because I crossed a lane with two unbroken lines # Unfortunately that is an automatic fail The second time that I failed on my driving test # Look out it's Ruby Field back again I drove the car into a hornet's nest Yeah, why would I ever get my licence When I can get pissed and my mates will drive me home Cause you know that I'm just a bird who advocates The benefits of never getting her P plates And if my Uber rating sucks I can wake up my best mate # Ruby, it's 4 o'clock in the morning # Why are you calling me? ~Can you pick me up? ~I need you to drive me to Bondi Beach by sunrise. # Okay, but this is the last time. Where are you? ~I'm in Canberra, good bye. I'm really great in the passenger side I go to sleep the entire ride If you want me to navigate I will give directions, but 10 seconds too late Just thought I should let you know that I forgot my wallet So I can't split the fuel Who would ever want a licence And I had a driving instructor called Will When we started he was actually super chill But he freaked out and had a heart attack As I was backing into traffic, f**king hell Yeah, I'm never gonna get my licence Cars cost too much so why not blackmail my friends Cause you know that it doesn't ever bother me That children can drive when they're 16 Yet legally I am not allowed to drive It doesn't ever bother me Deep down inside, maybe just a little bit Deep down inside, maybe it bothers me **Like to make comment rise to the top
Who knew a song about bumming rides would be so nice lol Edit: Whenever he says "I'll be your driving instructor Graham" it cracks me up 😆
I keep left listening to this because I love how it sounds. Album or riot.
Julia/ Ruby your voice is f'n amazing, this song is so fun. Love ur stuff, Tom!
I'm in Canberra. Goodbye.
Tom is fricking awesome!
her voice takes me back to the 90s
Her voice is gold ❤
I'm 32 and can't drive yet. I used to live in the UK and never really had to drive anywhere cos I could walk everywhere (and get child tickets for public transport cos im tiny) But we moved to Australia and it is HUGE and now I have learn. It's f*cking terrifying. Why does anyone drive? 😂 Giving birth and raising a child is easier than this madness 😝
This is in my top 5 favourite songs now. And it will be for the foreseeable future
Genuinely love this song 💚
this somg unironically i love and i want it on spotify pretty please
Why is this the best song of 2021 so far?

Celebrating over 40 years in America, the Toyota Camry is available in 18 different choices, offering a model for nearly every budget and taste. Whether it’s an electrified powertrain with the Toyota Hybrid System, an economical four-cylinder or punchy six-cylinder, Front or All-Wheel Drive, a stylish Nightshade Edition, or the performance-enhanced TRD model, Camry has drivers covered. The look up front is what distinguishes the comfort-oriented LE and XLE grades from the sport-oriented SE and XSE for 2017. The front fascia for the Camry LE and XLE grades shows a defined lower intake area. The gas version of the LE grade also features a 17-inch alloy wheel design, while the XLE features an 18-inch alloy wheel. The SE and XSE grades show off a bold lower fascia shape featuring a honeycomb style grille and side vent inserts, plus side vent accents. All I know is... it's sure to get you noticed. Please dm

oh I love you, Tom Cardy and Julia Robertson !
Lol first time I took the driving test I turned into oncoming traffic before resignedly pulling right back into the parking lot I had just left.
“I’ll have to catch a train to your show” guess her mates won’t drive her anymore
just got my drivers license last friday, it was my 4th attempt ^-^ it was a big stress but I'm glad to have it done
All Will's are naturally super chill....
immediately looked up Canberra and thought... Yep... that would be my life
lol awesome!!
Her Australian accent is so strong
Wow! She's good!
I feel this one
I've failed my driving test three times! One for not stopping completely before a right hand turn, once for making a right hand turn when there were pedestrians on the other side of the crosswalk, and once for not looking fully over my shoulder to make a lane change. Seriously. My dmv has a 54% failure rate.
One hell of a character arc
I feel like she would be an amazing rock singer too.
Can we get more of her? I love her vocals

If I can be extremely boring for a minute- There are basically two paths to getting your Ps (a provisional license with restricted rights and, in NSW where Sydney is at least, a blanket speed limit of 90km/h. But will at least let you drive unsupervised) in australia. I’m going to be generalising a bit because road and transport legislation is a state governed issue and therefore not necessarily universal across the country. For both paths, you need to have already passed a theory exam (known as Road Ready). In Canberra, at least, your high school will provide the training and test for you free of charge, though you only get a limited number of attempts before you need to go pay for it and do it on your own time (I think it’s 3 attempts? Been a while since I did it). Passing Road Ready will get you your L plates, a learner’s license that says you can drive only while supervised by someone with a full license. And this is where ‘Ruby’ is stuck. From here is where you get the two paths- there’s the competency based method and the one-off test. One-off test is exactly what it sounds like. You get in a car with an instructor (once you’ve logged the required number of hours of practice, which I think is 180) and they test you on 31 separate manoeuvres. A lot of people who take this option do so because it’s cheaper. You can do all your practicing with your parents or friends who have their full license and only need to pay an instructor for the test. The competency based method is said to be much easier, though. Here you have lessons with an instructor and they will teach you the 31 manoeuvres (aka the 31 competencies) and, when they feel you are ready, then they will test you on them one at a time. Once the testing of the competency begins you’re supposed to only have 3 attempts at performing it successfully (which you’re also given in the one-off test). This is much more expensive because you have to have a minimum of 35 lessons with an instructor to pass. All this is to say- I’m fairly sure my instructor just passed me to get rid of me. So much for having three attempts at the competency. We started *every lesson* with three attempts at a reverse parallel park. I must have had about 25 overall goes at that thing and eventually he was just like…. ‘Fine. Let’s call that passed.’
She's so pretty
Serious Frente vibes!

This music video seems to warp the very fabric of time itself. It starts out absolutely awesome and then suddenly crashed into a wall of my apathy. And then I tried to watch the rest, for what seems liike half an hour, and it just will not end. When it finally ended, I checked the length of the video and it’s only 2 mins and 54seconds long. So where the did the missing 27mins and 15seconds go? Simple answer, it was warped by this time machine Mr. Tom Cardy and Julia have created here. Bravo! Bravo! Truely an awesome video!
This is the most Australian accent I’ve ever heard sung before.
