In an interview, Mashima once said that his inspiration for Fairy Tail was when he was having drinks with his buddies and he wanted to recreate that feeling, which is exactly how Fairy Tail makes you feel. Like you are with your buddies having fun and just vibing.

I understand that a lot of time has passed since this video and many people still don't like Fairy Tail, but I will love this anime despite all the problems. Still, I really liked the story of Lacus, Erza, Gray, Gajeel, Jellal, Lily... All of them and other characters were very memorable, they are the driving force that keeps the guild afloat because, as Nux correctly said, "The Guild is the main character" and it’s correctly noted, not Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Mavis are main protagonists but precisely the guild that has gone through a long and difficult path to becoming what it is now. And I think this is what I like most and distinguishes this title from other shonen anime.

People tend to mock Fairy Tail for the power of friendship, but some characters have such tragic backstories that you actually want things to go well for them in that way, because it's wholesome.

I was binge reading Fairy Tail the other day and I actually was surprised how good it was? I mean, my expectations were pretty low but it actually surpassed it. For starters, compared to Naruto, Fairy Tail treat its female characters way better. Lucy was given a constant role in the plot, motivation, and important fights. And also, the power of friendships isn't as lame as you think.

Only fairy tail members can see Mavis.

I love the way Mashima did Zeref. I adore the way he shows how guilts absolutely eats at someone and having to shut down every emotional aspect of yourself so you don’t hurt others. Zeref is a great “villain” if you can even call him that.

To be honest, there are a bunch of popular animes said to be the best that I've tried watching or finished but that I've dropped multiple times before actually finishing it or never finished. Fairy Tail is one of the only longer Anime's that I've actually managed to finish with out break, except for the waiting time in between seasons of course. Its flow is amazing and if you pay attention, some things in the plot are foreshadowed 100 episodes in advance like Natsu and Gajeel being older than 80 years back in the Thunder Palace arc and then seeing much later that they're originally from 400 years ago. The story is much better than most people want to admit.

Lucy breaking aquarius's key madee cry so hard. Seeing Aquarius basically be with lucy throughout her life was touching.

I don't consider myself to be an "emotional guy". I'm not saying I don't appreciate moments that are supposed to be heart felt or gut wrenching, but I've never been a guy that actually tears up very easily. However, I have no problem admitting that Fairy Tail flat out
