Thanks for the comment! Sorry if the ending wasn't too clear, it turned out a little fast as I started to run out of time, but what I'm trying to show here is the disconnect from the persona Glinda's developed towards the public and her true feelings of mourning. Throughout the song Glinda tries to appeal to the audience(and herself) that Elphaba's death is good news, and the townspeople are quick to agree with her. She’s in denial, and the cracks show throughout the song with lines like “She died alone!” and the part where she explains how difficult her childhood must’ve been. So when Glinda sees Elphaba escaping, she’s sure it’s just her grief manifesting into an illusion, hence the shaking hands. She wants cry out and be honest about their relationship and how much she’ll miss her. But she’s scared she’ll fall apart if she breaks down now, and overall Glinda’s never been good at facing her own feelings. So she stuffs them down and puts on a smile instead. For the townspeople, and herself. Or at least, that’s what I was trying to convey, all other interpretations are absolutely welcome in my book! Anyway, thanks again for watching, and commenting! And sorry for such a long reply ;)

I always rant about how bad I feel for Glinda to anyone who will listen. She lost her best friend and then is forced to smile and cheer while everyone calls Elphaba wicked and labels her "death" as good news, while presumably never learning that her friend is alive.

Oddly, this animatic made me think of something that's never occurred to me before-- "the wicked die alone", but Elphaba won't die alone. She has Fiyero, and a hopeful future. It's Glinda, who plays along with every deception in Oz, who is left alone, sequestered by deception and idolization. I wonder if it's fair to call her wicked for that.

this is so under rated. the emotional glinda was feeling during this song is a roller coaster. she has to hide her true love for her best friend but put on an act for the people of OZ, so heart breaking. AMAZING JOB!

@@AsdfAsdf-mi6ks yeah, and she set herself up that if she was honest and or dropped the truth bomb about Elphaba everyone would have turned on her or abandoned her and being the popular one who’s skill is putting on a show with nothing really to back it up, she would have been crushed physically and mentally unable to cope or fight back like Elphaba could and did. I always saw Glinda as ultimately helpless and Elphaba as powerful but passionate to the point of horribly impulsive and stubbornly inflexible and impatient.

The dude with the Elixer was the wizard in the book. I just now realized they kept that they same and had I think the wizard actor play the dude

Wicked: a tragedy with the happy ending that makes the happiest of the characters have a tinge of sorrow for the rest of her life and the heroine be forever damned by the people she saved, all while both fulfill their dreams and never see their best friend again. And it's still happy! It's _Musical: The Musical!_

She knows she cannot show her true feelings for Elphaba but she tries to convince the public that the Wicked are not evil, they are alone and it makes them angry... I wish the musical would have ended with them together as a couple. This kind of describes how Glinda actually felt.

This is so good! The animation's really smooth and the art style is amazing. I love how Glinda is in denial and is trying to act normal and trying to not mourn the wicked. I literally almost sobbed when she said "She died alone."

And then the end - she sees a flash of Elphaba alive and knows that her best friend is *finally* free.

I have been waiting for someone to animate the opening number of Wicked! You did a fantastic job showing Glinda's pain at losing her best friend, and her having to save face with the Ozians. Keep up the fantastic work!

Wow. This is great! Love especially the scene of Elphaba melting; it is such a haunting image that I believe very much reflects what Glinda feels in that moment of the song. Great job!

I like how you drew Glinda showing both emotions. Throughout the show it is shown that while Glinda dislikes what goes on when Emerald citizens talk bad about Elphaba, she does like the attention. She always has. So I like that you showed the contrast in this. Glinda feels the guilt and pain and loss of a good friend but she promised she wouldn’t try to clear her name and so she also shows her upbeat and bubbly side very well

Glinda's expressions of Elphaba possibly death are simply beautiful.

"No one cries 'They won't return!!'" And then showing Glinda crying... I loved that part but it made me so sad! This is a great animatic too!

This song is....dark... 5:31 killed me 💔 And you've illustrated Glinda's internal conflict very well! Even more than what I could see in the musical! This is great!

Kind of sad elphaba manages to escape in the end but galinda ends up staying in the Oppressive lifestyle of oz

I’ve been waiting for one of these !! Thankyou so much! Edit: it’s really well done too, I love wicked and have the book, Elphie melting was sad and haunting while you can sense galindas pain.

There are two short moments I can't help repeating over and over in animated things: The part in Interstella 5555 where Stella drops a tear onto a flower and the moment here when Elphaba's statue crumbles. So beautifully sad and I love it. Good job!

This is absolutely wonderful! I love the emotion and character designs. Most ppl have a hard time with crowd numbers but this worked really well

To be honest, there is still goodness in Elphaba, she was deemed a wicked witch because of the Wizard and Madam Morrible, because of them stop can’t do good, but she still have good in her and Glinda is still her friend. And she’s the only one who still care for her.

And finally, I love ❤️ listening to For Good, I nearly cried after hearing this song, this proves that their friendship is still alive and well and glad that Elphaba and Glinda reconcile, the emotional 😭 was extraordinary and the have been changed for good. To Kristin and Idina, the 2003 musical was good and we all enjoyed it. And it will make a perfect 👌🏽 musical 🎞 and pray for all the 🎥 theaters reopen soon, and for to see it. And pray for all the stage plays, musical plays and opera theaters reopen soon.

I just realised that Glinda is thinking of herself as Wicked; she’s crying alone, she’s reaping what she’s sown by not siding with Elphaba.

Kristin and Idina still made this musical very spectacular and fantastic and extraordinary, Defying Gravity is the best song I listened, I also enjoyed listening 👂 to: The Wizard and I, What Is This Feeling?, Dancing Through Life, Popular, I’m Not That Girl, One Short Day, Thank Goodness, I like how Elphie’s sing her song of being The Wicked Witch Of The East, when she accidentally shrink Boq’s heart and we now know how The Tin-man first appeared. Oh, I also like As Long As Your Mine, that was a good romantic song, also No Good Deed, that song made me feel sad when she heard Fiyero being tortured in order to make her give up her whereabouts. Glinda pleaded them not to hurt him, but too late. But Elphaba tried to save him by healing him with the The spell from the book she was given, but accidentally turn him into the Scarecrow, and that’s how he appeared, she also had flashbacks of the people she care about, her sister, Dr Dilomoud, and Fiyero. Because of the Wizard, Madam Morrible and all of Oz who defame her, she no longer will go good deeds and accept her new title: The Wicked Witch Of The West, but no matter what, there’s still goodness in her.
