Walleye are some of the most finnicky fish to catch and I couldnt imagine the pressure of a tournament. And then on top of that when you find a good walleye spot, its also a good smallmouth and pike spot too.

IMHO, the CPR tournaments are the BEST form of tournament for the fisheries. The stacking fish in a small livewell and toting them around in bags is a really primitive form of conducting tournaments if you're going to release fish in the end. I'm not saying people who engage in those tournaments are wrong, but I just feel like catch, photo, release is so much better for the resource. It seems like the west has the right form of thinking about this, and I wish this sort of mentality would work it's way back east. Anyways, that's just one man's opinion. I'm loving this series...

I never understood the whole tournament fishing thing. To me, it seems like you're just adding stress to an activity that most people do as a means of relaxing and relieving stress. If you want to go fish these big tournaments all the time, go for it. I just don't see how it's appealing. I'd rather go out on a quiet little lake somewhere and catch a stack of bluegill for dinner, or run noodles for catfish while I'm camping.
