Very pretty, but between the first and last appearances, I think I liked the log tablet better in the natural colors of the papier-mache' you made from the egg cartons. You are very talented. I made a 3 foot castle out of newspapers flour and water 40 years ago. My wife makes hummingbirds and such out of bead and glue. The first one she made is 60 years old and has no blemishes. Nice work. I'm a Potter. I love art. Thanks for sharing.

i was doing this with my girls when we lived off grid over 30yrs ago and with egg trays. we first just turned it into flat cardboard for drawing on but then made a few age appropriate wee ornaments. great fun and cheap

A helpful hint, when adding texture to your clay with the fork or whatever tool you like to use, dip it in water first. It helps keep the drag down on the clay, making it a smoother texture. Beautiful work!

Very nice project! When we were kids in the 1950s and 60s, we made all sorts of projects with our artist mother, using any materials on hand. We also sewed and made sand-cast candles. Thanks for bringing back memories of our wildly creative mother and our projects with her. In my studio, I still have a pair of papier mache' hippos that she made. Happy New Year 2024!

very nice and very creative art piece. I feel little concerned about the stability of the Coffee table as the base is of simple card board where as the top of the table is of real or compressed wood. I would place the same type of round piece as the base that you used for the upper part of the table. I liked the idea. Thanks for sharing.

Makes me remember elementary school...we would blend water, glue and torn up paper egg cartons...then squeeze out the excess water and then press the pulp into candy molds to make ornaments/gifts. My youngest daughter did it as well...which I thought was cool that they still do some of the same things we did in school decades ago. She had made me several paper butterflies for Mother's Day.

For the recipe of the cardboard paste, I will retain that it is necessary to add white wood glue, corn flour, without forgetting two spoons of oil. Indeed, the cardboard paste is much more malleable and smooth.
