David, I'm a big big lad and having had issues with legs slipping two years ago i Purchased a Sensas with 36 MM legs, a little bit heavy if you carry but the 4 wheel shuttle makes life easy, since getting this I have no issues once set up it is solid and for big boys i can recommend them

looked hard i too thought about preston absolute ,new inception and bought a octbox mk19 d25 well pleased with it .

Big lad Dave, get a 25mm Octbox, just doesn’t move, upto a metre high in water as well, and nowhere near as heavy as s36, absolute etc. Don’t look fantastic but do what you want 👍

i’m a big lad also dave, top review mate, after looking round ive gone for the matrix S36, it’s big it’s heavy but it doesn’t move, exactly what i need, the only box i would change it for would be the xr36 but ran out of pennies

The Robin looked impressed, I was waiting for his opinion, anyways hope to see more reviews from you mate love the honest style, I think it makes a world of difference if you paid for the gear yourself. Cheers!

A great review David, I’m waiting for my Guru/Rive stealth box, I’d love to get the RSW version but £1500 ☹️🤭 for a seat box was a bit much, I’ve just got rid of an absolute, nice box but it weighed a ton, why don’t you try a Rive with normal leg set ups my only worries were about drawers not opening when you’re sat on the box but apparently that’s been fixed now, keep up the good work David and “ keep on baggin “👍👍👍

Cheers Michael, yeah I mite try a new RIVE but I like the look of the preston 36 black edition. I'm going to try and sort my rive out a bit mite do a video on it 👍

Been using a Rive D25 for 15yrs (have two) and apart from a couple of tray clips breaking in winter not had any issues with it until i tripped and burst the back plate which I replaced it with a piece of alloy plate and four years ago changed the leg clamp wheels as was struggling to grip/ tighten (arthritis), last year a couple if legs started to slide through clamp. Resolved this by putting a 20mm alloy spacer over legs, box frame sits on this and ensures hand wheels of leg adjuster can be used. Cannot justify spending the money to replace it and the accessories that fit it.

I have got the new Matrix XR36 COMP very well made and very strong mate 💯🎣

Not had a issue with the open system but I do change the washers strait away to stainless And grease up the inside of the open system I know people will say you shouldn’t have to grease anything up but it’s like a car the box is open to the elements like

Fair assessment Dave. I have always found that the price of the Rive boxes put me off. I have had two Trabucco Boxes on the trot which where fantastic. 36ml legs. Etc. The only problem with the current one which I am now replacing is that the draw below the seat is hard to open when sitting on it. Called sag!! Basically this is caused by the seat frame not strong enough to put up with 16 + stone of angler sitting on it. I am now replacing it with the Matrix 36Pro Lime. Having looked at the range of boxes I think that the Matrix, Preston and Maver boxes offer the most Value and options. Cheers. Stay safe mate.

@@BagUpTV I dealt with UK agent who sorted it all out.No problem with it at all. I just downloaded the Brochure and sorted all the bits out I needed like side Tray etc.

I sold my s36 box as I found it too heavy but it was very strong and then i got a preston inception instead,much lighter and just as strong

Hi Don`t overlook the Matrix Boxes, The units are made from Aluminium and a lot Sturdier than the Rive units , the cassette runners unclip and you can clip them on to any unit, The top units Completely unclip from the frame, I`m really really pleased with mine.

at 28 stone only box for me is the Matrix S36 Superbox Black Edition Seatbox (plus it was cheap )plus im not a tart like ben (Angling 4 U) dude (LIME GREEN LOL)

I recommend a product here gardener brolly spike soild aluminium 48in it don't bend like the standard supplied ones

Van reccomend the absolute 36 dave. Yes they are heavy but 100% solid.

I lost count of number I had over years....so called unbreakable ones which stop working after so long...Not really tackle I know but still important kit in winter.

Dave. have mine for 4 years now. And also expected more for 1235 euros. the drawers of plastic quickly broken. The closures break quickly. but you can make it all again. But will not buy this one again.

Treat yourself to a new box I'm getting an itchy trigger finger on a new Preston box to replace my Preston Space Station

Hi mate I’ve got a Rive open leg system and the box for me is ok the only problem I’ve had is the front drawer handle snapping so I went to B/Q and bought a cupboard handle and drilled it on plus I’ve just bought a Frenzee winder and side drawer system which is made by Rive from EBay for £39.99 free p+p.I think the next box that shows a lot of interest is the Matrix 36

I’ve had my box for about 7 years mate and Rive make the Frenzee box and it’s a no brainer plus all the other tackle companies make D36 attachments for half the price and I bought Matrix legs which are sold in packs of 2 for my front legs for about £40 don’t buy Sensas legs they’re to thick about 37mm

Had a rive hated it. Got matrix s36 now had it four years can’t fault it brilliant boxes

Had a rive ,pretty as could be,slipping legs,standing up to open draws ,rain ingress,had to go,went for the ultimate in no nonsense,have a word with nick speed about his box,never looked back. No separate barrow just a wheel and 2 handles takes hardly any room in the car.

@@davemcevoy8122 it’s an octbox,mk13 -1 d25,had it 8 years, best described as function over form,not pretty but sure does work,actually think the new versions look a lot prettier, down side is I don’t like what he’s done with the legs,I prefer the swivelling plastic mudfoot to the solid aluminium stump.
