I don't know what that first pencil you used was, but I have no pencils at all that crumble like that, and i have at least seven that are far, far, far blacker. The darkest pencil I have is a 14B, but I do use the Polychromos black pencil, and the Caran d'Ache black. I'm not sure which I li9ke best. I also use a charcoal pencil and a carbon pencil. Which I use depends on the drawing, the paper, and the size of the area I need to cover. I've also been experimenting with a black pastel pencil, and while there are some problems using it, it is also showing a lot of promise. It's very, very black, and has zero shine, even when used with pressure.

Which pencil are you talking about? Can you tell me the exact time in the video I use it?

Thank you! It is different, in that video I compare 2 pencils, this one is all about getting rid of the graphite shine.

Does the black polychromos pencil erase easily? Or does it make a mess?

It does erase a bit hard so I recommend to be very careful.
