Just yall know, the air wont blow any RTV off. Oil pump by design has zero torlerance, there isnt enough space to blow air pass the oil pump. Worse, youre going to damage your internal seals.

Oil filters have flaps to stop draining while the engine is off so this is redundant, I fail to see how this can do anything about rtv or debris in the pickup considering its the pickup screen that gets clogged. If air is getting into the filter channels inside the timing cover, wouldn't a much cheaper and more permanent fix to be to simply seal the plate with rtv?

...dude... don't shoot unfiltered compressor air into the oiling system of your engine.

I'd like to see a follow up on this with your real-world experience using the product and some testing showing its efficacy. As it stands, I am not convinced this solved a real problem.

This is for paper cartridge top mount type filters that have no ability to have an anti drain back. It definitely quiets up the top end on startup.

Bro, don't the oem filters have anti drainback valves to do the same thing? 🤔

A couple questions. Will it be too tall if there is already a Jackson Racing Oil Cooler adapter? Will it work at all? What is the minimum pressure to open the one-way valve? Does not fit with the Oil cooler adapter.

It definitely will not work if you're running a Jackson Racing Oil cooler. This adapter adds an extra two inches of rise. I'm running a Jackson Racing Oil cooler and checked the clearance by simply placing a piece of 2X4 on top of the oil filter. Hood will not close.

So you need compressed air to even change your oil? Doesn't seem very user friendly if you don't have compressed air. Also how would it work, it it can work at all, with the Jackson Racing Oil cooler? Or any oil cooler at that.

Would this help improve the oil pressure lost in the right hand turns? That is the main Achilles heel for the 2nd gen cars and not the RTV issue

Unlikely. The solution to that will likely be a larger oil pan, such as the one Verus is developing.

Note that you can't run this if you have an oil cooler installed; unless you want to cut a hole in your hood

Half right. Clogging has led to oil starvation in early models. Long high G turns will drop oil pressure, which can be mitigated with an accumulator.

@@burakoshimazaki there has been testing that rtv clogging 1-2 side of the pickup doesn't actually cause issues with oil starvation. it's the design/engineering of the way it pickups/oil pan design + right turn high g's that leads to oil starvation causing engine failure. all these worry cats about rtv is getting old lol. I agree oil sump does indeed solve the problem and car will run fine regardless of rtv in pick up or not. majority of these losers don't even pull high enough g's to cause oil starvation anyways.

Lot of ignorance on this board. Do you know if the cenapoise value of oxygen is? It's like 028 meaning whoever said that the tolerances are tight on the oil pump. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Air is a liquid and it's going to easily bypass through there and even if there's 2,000 clearance it's going to easily blow by there. So you also need to realize that a lot of these guys out there going out there buying these $3 supertech oil filters that have anti-drain back valves made of nitrile that don't stop the oil from draining out of the filter. That's why when you screw a vertical filter off of a Subaru it may be absorbed into the media but no oil comes out of the center. A proper drain back valve would not allow that to happen. Don't care about your cam phasers go for it.... A lot of people commenting here. Got ancient Subarus before they switched over to fujibond as gasket material for almost every possible component of this engine. And it cost $1,000 to drop the oil pan if you don't have a WRX and have a boroscope put up the oil intake and guess what you're going to find up there RTV or Fuji Bond as we call it. With a WRX you can buy a new oil pan and a new oil intake that's not cheap, ass, plastic or designed so badly that your $39 oil pan can handle going around a sweeping right turn without causing oil starvation by tossing all the oil to the left side of the pan. Nobody criticizes you for buying your big tires and putting lift kits and all this nonsense on there. But oh my God if we want to prevent all the oil draining out of the top and it's utter nonsense to those who don't know how engines operate. And I guarantee you when you have that filter hydro locked. It's not going to let air back in there. And these aren't like before you were born. You'd have to crank an automobile for 2 or 3 seconds to give the oil pump time to get some oil up into the top end of the engine. Now with these new designs they fire off and 3/4 of a second and with auto stop start you're dry starting 50 100 times a day. When I say dry start I'm talking pull up to a light for 3 minutes. The oil drains out of the the center return of your filter and you're constantly refilling your filter every time Auto starts. Stop engages that's why I've disengaged that as well
