It's so weird to see the Monsta X member act so awkward and compete against each other. I came here after becoming a fan of them and seeing them like this is just so awkward for myself. Like kihyun and shownu are so close now and here it's like when a wife and a husband get into an argument

I guess that's what happens when the official 7 is chosen and they spend more and more time with each other since it's only 7 of them in a dorm only for them. They were also roommates after No Mercy but Kihyun changed roommates when they shifted towards the end of 2015

I actually was thinking the opposite. I'm not sure if it was the way the camera shooting was but I didn't really like Shownu's dancing I didn't think he did his best. but his singing was flawless like if I was one of the judges that would the reason why I would put him in 2nd place, his voice was soooo nice

I think because, if I am being honest, If he didn't dance and was just singing in his performance, he would not have come second and kihyun would have ranked above him so he wouldn't be as high on the ranking if not for his dance, his vocals are great, but not the best out of everyone

IN Ö Let me be straight about this: I want to hear kpop idols who are good at singing, not MCing. Singing is their job, therefore I'm not going to think "oh, but he/she is good at something else". They're kpop idols, or training to be, therefore, singing and dancing is a must. Period. Also, you can think Bom is not good, yet that doesn't stop idols for praising her ;)

I feel like even if it was mean it was needed because they've hugely improved since now and the issues that ruined this performance have been eliminated

I don't understand how Minkyun didn't instantly break down crying after his performance. I would have.

I can't handle Minhyuk crying. Seriously, he's my ultimate bias and precious sunshine so seeing those tears breaks my heart. Clearly we all know about his later success but damn he deserved all the hugs!

현우 못할것 같다면서도 기현이가 하자니까 좋을 것 같다고 하는게.. ㅠㅠ 마음씨가 조타..

when they said they'd be performing "Bang bang", I knew Shownu was in trouble. Shownu is very talented but there's just some songs that just isn't for you and in this case, it really wasn't the best choice of song for Shownu and he knew it himself but I'm proud of him for believing in himself and pushing himself to make it work regardless even if the results didn't turn out so well. It also seemed like the other guy knew that he would be at an advantage with that song so he seemed a lil selfish to me but then again it is a competition so I don't blame him for wanting to win. I think so far I like Shownu the most cause of his pureness and of course he's also super talented plus he's hot.

that other guy is Kihyun xD Monsta x's Main vocal, and yes, that's exactly what he did. it's the same with Shownu, he knew Kihyun can't dance but he wanted to pick a song with a choreography, they weren't close so both of them pick something to have advantege against the other, also, they didn't practice a lot, for me, the best choice for them could be a ballad, even when Shownu is the main dancer, he's also one of the top vocals, so they could focus in something both of them are good,

Yeah, I definitely think that Shownu just wanted to be kind by going with that song. Maybe it was because they were still awkward with each other so he didn't want to disagree and argue, but I digress. I don't blame Kihyun for choosing it though, like the show's title, you have to be merciless to succeed in this and, unfortunately, sometimes nice guys finish last. (I'm just happy I'm watching this 4 years later so I know they both made it anyway. ^^)

I was rooting for kihyun to win, but when i actually saw the performance I realized how unfair that song choice was to shownu :(

Calling kihyun out for being "selfish" or "manipulating" about the song choice is also being biased towards shownu, regardless if it put him at an advantage, y'all forgetting that kihyun initially suggested they do a more vocally- oriented song since they can both sing even if he's the better vocalist, they could have picked something within their range so both could have been relaxed enough to perform well...shownu was the one who wanted a more movement-oriented song, hence kihyun met him halfway and suggested a "flashy" song so they could both showcase what they are best at respectively, but aside from the rapport clearly lacking, the choreography was water-downed so kihyun could keep up even though shownu could barely match the other's tone, so the compromise on both fronts is what really made it flop and lackluster..it's on shownu to suggest a different "flashy" song instead of being passive and just agreeing, they could have explored more...otherwise a ballad would have been the safer and wiser choice.

I found it amusing watching Shownu and Kihyun being awkward when I see how they are now together but, I couldn't help agreeing with K.Will, I was rather disappointed with them both, I think Kihyun picked a bad song for both of them.

for people who are hating on the judges, just stop. Because its an audition which is supposed to be very hard. And if the judges lie that the auditioner is good then how are they supposed to know their weaknesses. This is how they improve their lack of skills

Shownu is a little sailor Lost in a sea of horror With his dongsaengs But he still loves them boom. i just made that up.

Ok so before I knew a few kpop bands but I was not like a huge fan that knows everything about the band. Today I discovered Monsta X and I went like "I think I'm going to ship these two dudes" then everyone in the comments were like "I ship Shownu and Minhyuk since No Mercy" and now I ended up here, only five days till my final exams, trying to understand whats going on and getting attached to the people without knowing why... And one more thing, how did that come back home guy not get rank 12, I don't want to be mean but like hello do you even hear? There were a lot more talented guys they put at lower ranks..

I'm one of the senior students in my theatre troupe, and my focus is musical theatre and the psychology of performance presentation. I think that a lot of the problem with Shownu and Kihyun was just awkward tension that could have easily been resolved through systems we use all the time if people who dislike or don't really know each other have to be onstage together. A personal favorite of mine is putting people on fake 'dates' where they have to go to a coffee shop, or bowling, or sightseeing together in character. It's cheap, fast, and works well. I really think a sort of team-building 'date' would have made all the difference in their performance. That, and smiling! They both looked a bit depressed tbh. Anyway, love you Monsta X! Monbebe and proud

서바이벌 데뷔해서 잘되는 사람들 보면 꼭 최선은 다 하되 찌질하게 구는 것이 없음..셔누님 솔직히 곡 선정에 대해서 불만을 가질 수도 있지 않을까 싶었는데 남탓이나 곡 선정 불만하는 거 하나 없이 자신이 부족했다고 말하고, 기현님도 죄송하다고 말하는 거 솔직히 놀랐음...

LMAO I wondered that at first too but like +viny said they were pushing the low-number-people to piss themselves in terror in order to get better whereas Minkyun (not gonna lie; he STILL has amazing charisma and a GREAT high-tone vocal but like...) the poor kid had shortcomings technically that would need work in the long-term. IDK for real though. Starship works in mysterious ways...

When i saw that SHOWNU and KIHYUN are opponents my mind was "Oh mom and dad are gon' make a war" And im still nervous on the ranking even tho we know who's gonna Debut. How i wish Wonho is still In Monsta X cuz he worked hard just to Debut. 😣

They were really, REALLY nervous and I knew Shownu would have faced the elimination since he lacked a lot in that performance!

why are y’all so rude to him, he’s literally the nicest in this show, his voice was more stable than minhyuks and wonhos, you can tell wonhos preformance wasn’t good and it was cringy, instead of hating minkyun give him criticism, minhyuks voice also cracked a lot during his preformance which is why he was lower and he only did the ad libs correctly. Minkyun overall did the best out of minhyuk and wonho, and don’t be so made because you already know monsta x doesn’t have minkyun, y’all are rude, because if you had to sing the song minkyun sang you would suck more than him plssss- and as a vocalist who has gone through training, minkyuns voice was much more stable than minhyuks and wonhos, do you guys really not read what they say when they evaluate them like bro what-

@@jinslonelypotato it’s really not that serious tho. He didn’t really listen to criticism on him straining his voice. His voice...it was 🥴. To say he was better that Wonho and Minhyuk...voice wise? They might have been both cringy but their singing was good and at least they tried to spice up their performances with some charm. His was kind of bland. And he wasn’t stable at all and they criticized him for not being stable so idk what u mean. The guy literally said he did not have to do a whole lot of extra stuff with his voice and could’ve kept it smooth instead of going high. But it doesn’t matter. He ends up being in a another idol group in the present so it doesn’t matter now. As long as he learned and continued in the present time. But in the show...just not really it. You don’t have to be so pressed...

I never thought i would ever cry for someone else that isn't my family or friend. Maybe I would if it was one of my top biases but I recently just started stanning Monsta X (literally the day before yesterday) and damn, when the usually cheerful happy virus of the group Minhyuk started crying, I started bawling as well. And Monsta X isn't even one of my top bias groups! MINHYUKKIE I'M SORRY I CANT BE THERE FOR YOU ;-;-;-;-;-;

UGH YES. I hate these kids being depressed omo... this past evening Minhyukcoo went on V-App and casually went, "I'm working hard, the company gives lots of schedules, and we need your support. The rankings don't matter even" and that's just so??? I hope all the best for these guys man. They went through hell. TT

I died at how awkward Showki are AHAHAHA. I have tears streaming down my face because of how hilarious it is (of course I got sad later on...but at least I have the reassurance of knowing that they debuted together). This is my first Monsta X related show ever so tell me it gets better haha.

Honestly I feel solemn when the trainees are eliminated bc they try so hard but nothing good returns back to them 😭😭😭 *I just wanna hug everyone and tell them YOU DID GOOD* 👍❤💯
