main thing: be sure that the new adrift hauler is set as your main/active ship in the expedition before you end it!!
once expedition is completed, go to expedition terminal in space anomaly and then copy ship via nanites. you can add more copies than you have slots free!!
same is true for your multitool used in the expedition.
