Honestly hold the landing button. Ive noticed since the last major update, landing has been more of a pain when just getting to the planet.

@@Kyvlen I haven't changed ships and it happens to every ship I have. Big and small. Even areas that are known flat areas like space around portals or flat areas on top of mountains pillars on moons with little to no flora, struggle to place my ship a landing spot. Shocker some of them have had nothing on top of them but a ferrite node or two so I think its a loading issue, entering atmosphere faster than it can load the surroundings but nonetheless it never happened this much and it was more obvious before that there was something in the way where as now its flat out struggling to land almost anywhere. (Features like manual landing need to be added because I've spent an hour slowly flying in circles waiting for landing sequence)

I want to thank this poster very much! As of Nov 13, 2023, this worked PERFECTLY. Although I had coordinates, as provided in this video - after putting in the Glyph at my Portal Base, I went directly to one of the Communication centers and BOOM - there is was, the crashed ship. Using my PS5, right stick, I pressed in over the Living Ship quest in the Log and this beautiful black and red Hammerhead Living Ship appeared. I paid the 10,000 Nanites and flew off in my wonderful new ship to park ‘her’ next to my original living ship. So, thank you to this poster, once again. 2 years after it was posted, it still works! I’m coming back for more once I get more eggs!

So I know a few planets with 4sq sc slot locations. If I go to one of these locations and redo the mission, will the resulting ship keep the locations SC slot layout? I understand the name, looks, and everything else will be different, but IDC about that, as long as the sc slots stay the same.

Did they change how this works? I'm on PC and when I try I get "restart mission using local structures" instead of what you are showing and when I do that standing by the place I want the ship, it puts the quest marker at a different site.

Im new bro ive done the first mission and got a ship but i dont like it, can i do this but put it on free purchases when i buy ship with nanites?

So your saying if I have completed the quest one time already. For my second ship follow this guide, and I will be able to get the other 11?

I really really appreciated for this video, I went location in wiki it was normal ship but after did what you explained. It really worked I just got the red colored living ship with 303 attack stat. Subbed.

One thing nobody mentions that I've seen so far . . . A Void Egg won't work unless it is a fresh, uncracked egg! If you have an egg you started and some how got side tracked and the egg 'expired' (Starbirth got aborted?) you can have a "cracking egg" in your inventory for months, and nothing will happen. You have to do away with that egg, and get a fresh new egg or the Starbirth Mission will not start. I ran into this, finally went *DOH* realizing my egg was a cracking egg, disposed of it by middle clicking mouse (PC version), flew to Anomaly, bought a fresh egg and Voila! The Starbirth started! A happy ending to months of trying now and then and failing. I have now rejected two ships (ugly institutional green) and kept one, a white/dark red long nose with dorsal barbel!

do you mean I can have the ship without doing the starbirth mission and just go to the coordination?

Is there anyway that you could go ahead and put up a video on how to get a blue living ship or a green or purple?

It doesn't seem to work anymore. If I reset the mission it sends me to another place on the planet and gives me a random ship

I Just did this today and it works like a charm. I went for the B&R hammerhead. I did experience some strange bugginess at first however. The ship was clearly crashed, on fire etc. As I approached the ship it flew off. At first I thought was this just a landed pilot. It's surrounded by communication pods so I knew it was the right spot, several bases around etc. Reload: same thing happens. Reload again, I quickly run over, restart the mission fighter "auto repairs" yet again and flies off, no living ship. Third reload: I inspect the ship (I don't claim it) just inspect with the option to claim. Exit the inspect screen, it doesn't fly off this time and then when I restart the mission BOOM living ship.

@@DizzyCooperSarrosong try traveling a little ways away. 800ish Unit a ways. And then reload and continue as normal. Remember which way you came from. That’s the only way I was able to get it to spawn

@@OsKxCinder that dosent seem to be working eather sadly. hell i was interacting with the ship that is there at one point and it flew off while i was looking in it. i think this things just bugged or i could try turning my internet off entierly idk same problem with the other living ships in the system too

Still works just fine as for January-13-2022. But I had to report any base that was in range of the crashed ship in order for the living ship to spawn,(by reporting the base, the game makes is it dissapeared) so the glitch for the LS works..✌ I got the Red Hammerhead triple thruster. Thanks!!

Thanks! I travelled all the way to Eissentam to find one and it kept redirecting me to a separate location when I refreshed the mission while standing in front of the ship. I’ll give this a try.

I show up at the explorer (first ship) and hit restart mission but it gives me coordinates to a ship elsewhere. Im on ps4

Thanks for making this guide. I waited till I was at the coordinates to switch the "Starbirth" mission to my current system and the regular crashed ship changed into the living ship, haha. Didn't have to load my auto save at all.

Is it possible to get the red and black living ships as your first living ship

I tried this with a different living ship but when I got to the crash site and reset the mission it just marked a different location (on the same planet). I didn’t portal to the planet with the ship, just teleported back to the space station since I had visited that system before. Could that be the reason for the problem?

Thanks for the great videos! I have a question. So a friend and I play a lot together, but when we are not partied up, we cannot see each other’s bases, is this normal? Or is there a way to see each others bases when not online together?

you should see each other bases if you both uploaded your bases from inside the base computer and if your discovery services are online you can see it in the discoveries page bottom left in green if its in red try to exit the game and enter or give it time sometimes there servers is down but mostly it should work lastly bases takes time to show up after the upload sometimes is couple of hours and sometimes more other then all those what if's everything should work fine hope i helped and thanks for watching :)

I am currently doing the living ship mission, the 2nd piece is maturing (the one that required liquid sun). Is there a way to get any of these ships as my first ship? Is that first one always going to be a default ship that will be the same as everybody else’s?

Reload your auto save and try again it will work

Worked but almost lost it twice cuz people have landing pads near the crashed ship witch causes the crashed ship to have an npc and relocate on said landing pad with only a few seconds before he takes off in it so people plz remove your landing pads near crashed ships ty

7:13 I was able to buy the ship but when I went to my freighter, it wasn’t in there. I tried summoning it and it wasn’t in my menu. I know that I didn’t reach the max amount of ships cause I just sold one to make space for this ship. Any advice?

I've tried using this to get a second living ship and it doesn't work for me. There was no living ship only crashed ship. I tried to refresh the quest and it wouldn't, reloading didn't help. Any other suggestions? I was so hoping for a red one.

11/01/22 it does work. But… I had to do a lot of saving and reloading. A lot of reporting nearby bases to get rid of them, leaving the system and returning, a ton of restarting the game.. seriously, it does work, but getting it to work is a MASSIVE pain in the ass. The crashed explorer that spawns there will fly away if there’s any bases with landing pads near. The game thinks it’s one of the random ships flying around within the vicinity for some reason. Even after reporting all nearby bases to remove them the game still somehow refuses to believe there’s a crashed ship in the first spot, what I mean is, even after removing all nearby bases the ship stops randomly flying away, but you can no longer interact with it even though it’s clearly sitting there. The solution to this was to leave the system for a while, then come back and immediately fly to this spot and then restart the mission using nearby objects. 3 times I had to restart the game entirely to get it to change into a living ship because the mission was now directing me to the right spot, it just wouldn’t change into a living ship, once it finally did change I still could not interact with it. I had to fly away from the spot after restarting the mission and getting the correct spawn location, and then wait for an auto save, restart the game a 4th time. Load back into the game and then fly to the directed coordinates. After all of this I was finally able to claim to the first living ship in this video. Im assuming the biggest issue is all the trash bases built all over this system and clogging everything up. Causing bugs and issues with loading in, mission restarts etc.. but I did get it.

how does it work where some show coordinates and some show glyphs/ do the ones for glyphs not need coordinates?

You can spin the ship by using the mouse wheel on pc

Can you help me? I just completed starbirth with no complications and claimed my first ship. For some reasons I cannot summon the second living ship, I have been pulsing for ages and warping with these void eggs but nothing happens? Am I doing something wrong?

Probably you went to the wrong planet check to see I named which planet it’s on with the coordinates and every living ship location works but thanks for confirming 👍

Did they patch this...I can't reset the mission

why is there no tripple thruster with coordinates ?

It lets me feed it nanites but then it wont let me interact with it to claim or swap it. Edit: it let me get the hammerhead 👌🏼 thanks Qball!😁

Well its not working fot me anymore because one idiot build a base so close to the thing that the explorer already flies off this glitches out the entire cycle and you cant get it anymore
