No Lights, No Crank Honda ATV, Fixing the 12 Volt Side of the Wire Harness!

Ойын-сауық

This Honda TRX300EX was started during the last video using a portable CDI box and by jumping the starter solenoid, in this video, we do some tracing and troubleshooting of the 12VDC side of the wire harness. When done, the key switch is working again and so it the left hand starter switch. The fix was actually very simple!

To add to Harvey's comments about the starter solenoid dont assume that because its new that it works. I recently had an issue on my quad where when I hit the start button it would start cranking over and never stop until i disconnected the battery. Looked for a week to see if I could find a bare wire or something grounding it out. I ended up replacing the brand new out of the box solenoid with another new unit and it worked perfectly. DOA unit right out of the box. I credit Harvey and the multimeter checks! A Q&A Video would be awesome. Questions I have its answers I need hahaha

Great lessons, I like the potential of a Q&A session. Maybe an intro into the machine of the day and it's problems, then get questions about that specific machine and review them as you make repairs. I've seen some of that but having that machine fresh in our minds and eyes will help me plenty. { No Selfish Motives On My Part} LOL LOL LOL Thanks Harvey

I think it's the kill switch as well my 185 will spark once then nothing if I forget to put it in the run position. Can't imagine they have changed much over the years and adding one to many wheels doesn't help either...😜

My 1998 Honda 4 Trax 300 has no sparks and got to find out that the nuetral light and reverse lights are on together. When I turn on the key switch the nuetral and oil temperature are on then the oil light turn off after a few seconds I crank the engine and I get a little spark but then the reverse lights trips in and the spark is gone. Don't know what is going on....
