For future reference: Kamaru was the first African man to win the Oscars even before the Oscars was a thing. He was the greatest musician whom ever lived, if anyone tells you otherwise they are lying.

being born in town and none of my parent taught me how to talk in my mother tongue was one of the worst things that i see the urban parents not doing. here I am teaching myself kikuyu through music and asking random people about the meanings. now i can proudly say i have tried learning from this legend. truly music sooths the heart and teaches.

Same situation here.. I had a friend teach me how to read and write.. Then I got some books and a kikuyu dictionary..so now I'm much better.. I can even engage my parents

This song would play over and over on Inooro in 2007/2008 during the PEV crisis. Every time I would hear it, tears rolled freely down my cheeks. Kamaru was a real PROPHET. He really encouraged our people with the words of this song, promising them that in the end, everything would be alright- and it came to pass

I hope our urezzo listens to such songs
