I remember my first round of Engineer on goon I did this. I ended up “training” another new guy, giving him whatever information I found out on the spot, this ended up with the entirety of Engineering flooded with Plasma and Co2, and my trainee dead. 10/10 would recommend this trick.

I am a good Chief Engineer, I actually thought about going back to SS 13

my engineering experience extends as far as putting on a suit, heading out to the solars, wiring them, bypassing the SMES for funny and then just chillin out there with my solar panel bois while the station tears itself apart inside

as a goon engineer, this is by far the most accurate depiction of goon engineering. Now all i do is make loafs and pocket dimensions for personal entertainment.

All I know about engineering is to get rubber gloves, screw driver, shears and crowbar and force open doors I'm probably not supposed to open.

I used to be an engineer in SS13. I did okay. But I never did atmos stuff. Mostly stuck with /tg/code stations, is why, so it wasn't too necessary. Still, dead rounds, I colonized the asteroid, created a station on the expedition, and made a true cargonia independent station. The trick to being a good engineer is knowing you know nothing. But doing anyway. Preferably with the wiki open, mind you. Don't take extreme risks, but I'd by a hypocrite if I said I never nearly killed everyone. My first time creating a singularity engine of my very own, I covered all the floors in tiles. Singuloth ate every tile. It went from a very tame barely-active singularity into a full 7x7 barely contained doomsphere. Panic insued. But to my shock, it stayed stable. And I had a lot of power, working, to my experimental station. I learned, and now, I leave my floors bare. Looks are for tools Besides; makes it easier to see my nice wiring.

I remember destroying the entire station once by singularity because I didnt know that a powerbank in the back was NOT an unused backup but a vital one for the shields.

I still find I hilarious and completely fk'd is all you need is a hypospray and a bone saw, then you can just walk up to people, put them under anesthetic, then proceed to saw their head off.

I learned a lot of jobs for ss13 but engineer was never it lol

seeing the vr dungeon in a youtube video was an experience, I still have a txt guide laying around that gets you all the way to what I'm 80% sure is the last door, without a single clue how to open it.

I spend every round trying to elevate myself from janitor to janiborg. Efficiency in mopping.

I used to be able to start up the singulo and some other relatively basic things like wiring, but shit has seriously changed since I last played. I seriously should get back into playing, it's probably been at least two years. I can't imagine how much stuff has changed in that time.

Things have gone from "bolt down the thing, turn on the barriers, stick plasma in the collectors, turn on the PA" to "there is a big yellow crystal in middle of engineering. It absolutely is going to kill you, blow up all of engineering and it's going to be 100% your fault."

Also pipes make absolutely no sense now, which is great because the big yellow crystal of death depends entirely on setting up a proper gas loop.

Yeah Goongineering really dropped off after they neutered the TEG engine. The experienced engineers moved on to something else because so there isnt as many old hands to teach the newblood.

My engineering experience was quick I spawned has an engineer on goonstation in the Middle of nowhere on a ship i saw i had a space suit on found a hive got of the ship then died of oxygen deprevation Becuse i forgot to put an oxygen tank on. Over all 10/10 experience would do it again

I can do engineering on every map. But Do I want to do it well? depends on my mood.. :)

20 hours as engi, doesnt know how to make the SM work, jump in as Chief Engi. What could go wrong? Just let the engis that know what they doin do the work while I punch the bad guys

On flupstation the best engineers i find are Jonathan Joestar and screw and one more i dont remember the name of. We made a 2Gw SM and put canister fusion in SM as well as before the Pluox change we rand CO2 and Tritium SMs I myself drifted away probably because of all the small changed that atmos is getting that changes the SM setups or the SM changes themselves.
