@@BoxerRenee By the way, Tack IS the Cobbler, the film has 2 names, The Thief and the Cobbler (the more popular one) and The Princess and the Cobbler. I watched both of these movies (well, i watched the piece together cut of TTATC) and they both heavily lacked in the story compartment, and usually used bizarre scenarios to make up for lackluster story telling. TTATC was difficult to watch because ALOT of the scenes were dragging and lacked proper suspense, and the ending was somehow underwhelming and overwhelming. Raggedy Ann and Andy was difficult to watch because it was incoherent, motives weren't properly established, etc. They both were great pieces of animation (personally, i found TTATC to put a bad taste in my mouth due to the palpable racism, but i guess Tack and the Thief were cute characters) but story wise they were like any other gum on the sidewalk. You step on it, get stuck for a moment, then move on.

I accidentally liked this. How do people actually this guy? He is a rag doll. How would someone date a rag doll?

If Andy actually does come across some boy's themed toys, two things could happen. 1.) They (the plastic action figures/boys' toys) would either pick on and/or beat him up because he's as soft & most likely use him as a punching bag.😣 Or 2. They'll be jealous of Andy. Unlike the plastic toys, Andy can be sewn back together it he gets torn up/broken, and a lot of girls love to hug him. Andy is practically a Chad.

Ok so first off this song SLAPS but can we talk about the animation here??? It’s SO FLUID and the choreography is amazing too they made so much use of him being a ragdoll If I’m not mistaken, this scene was animated by Richard Williams, who also directed the entire film. I read about the making of this film and the whole process is so interesting, and I remember reading that the entire movie had nearly half a million frames total if not more.

Makes sense, since it’s Richard Williams directing- he was a perfectionist. Other works of his were “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and the unfinished “The Thief and The Cobbler” (Which gained popularity recently.)

This is just a guess, so please do not take this as fact, but I've noticed that over the past few years lots of kids movies have been made just to sell toys... many character designs nowadays are probably less appealing because they're designed to be easier to manufacture as toys later on... so probably many designs are simpler and less interesting for this reason (again, I do not know if this is true or not, it is just a guess)

Honestly, the whole movie's in the toy room, ideally without the captain OR the twins ever being introduced. Just THAT roughly first half hour or so is all you need-- the rest ain't nothin' but a headache.

Anyone else notice how Raggedy Ann and Andy don't blink at any point in the film? I know they're ragdolls but we see other toys blinking as well so it just seems kind of creepy

Finally!!! This was marked for kids so no comments. This is awesome

Gotta admit, I love watching this for multiple reasons. The song is good (especially for a movie, I usually cringe a bit during musical bits of movies), the animation is spectacular, it’s just a fascinating thing. Especially for the times, it would’ve taken a lot of work, and I especially like the fact that modern folks are simping over him, when his whole bit was about not just being tossed around, being treated like a man, and not just a girl’s toy, in both the sense of “a girl’s toy” and ‘a girl’s “toy”’, especially when he’s singing about someone following him home and him not being coy. I just think it’s funny, especially from a modern perspective.

The first "nicey and spicy sissy you gonna enjoy!" trot is just iconic
