Great card, as always. I think what I like least about the craft industry is the constant influx of new products. I wish companies would do releases 4 times a year instead of every month. It’s just too much and by the time you actually get the things you ordered, they are on to the next release.

Hi Barb. I wanted to share some insight. I’ve worked for SU for 12 years as a demo. What we’ve come to realize is that if we only release 4 times a year as we did. People order things they want in the first month and then they don’t order anymore until months later. This isn’t a sustainable solution for business. So what I think has happened in the industry is people buy all or most of the things they want right away when a new release happens and then crickets. So businesses feed the consumer by always having new stuff to order. Does that make sense? ❤ Hope that helps with the why. Not saying it’s right just saying it’s what has happened.

I agree. One of my kits took 3.5 weeks to arrive and I live in the US! By the time I got it, there was no time to make anything for that holiday. I am not doing those again.

I’ve never felt like you were pushing something on me. Nobody is holding a paint brush over our heads to buy something. Lol. I get it, it’s your job, and you’re very passionate about your coloring. I have learned so much from you, and didn’t cost me a dime. Thanks for all you do for us. 😊😊😊❤

Gorgeous card! If possible would love to see you do a card using copics as your base with colored pencils to add dimension. I have watched you for years and love the way you share your techniques and knowledge! For me, l’ve never felt pressured in any way. It’s all good! This card is so rich. The touch of dark teal really makes it exquisite, lMHO. I love this technique! The combination of alcohol markers over watercolour seems perfect for me because I'm not super comfortable with detail work with watercolour!

Purple is my favorite color and not always used in paper crafting videos. I appreciate your use of the todays color choices because to me it makes this card design stand out!

I appreciate the tips on using Copic with Distress ink and water. And to speak to how I feel about new releases/retiring craft supplies: I really dislike how often new things are released. It creates so much waste in the environment, clutters our homes, and wastes so much time with the maker making the item, us buying it, it being shipped, swatch the item, store the item, maybe use the item 😅, and then shuffle it around until it’s been used up or we don’t want it, and then it’s out the door to one place or other (or just cluttering our home). I am just not a fan of consumerism in general and all of my hobbies conflict with that BUT I use videos like this one not to inspire me to BUY something new but to inspire me to use a new TECHNIQUES! Thanks, Kelly, for sharing all of your inspiration, techniques, and stories ❤ When I do buy from your affiliates, I do use your links though!

Wow it's a beautiful card. Great idea to blend watercolors and alcohol markers😍👍. Haha love that you find a roll of scotch foam tape, under your son's bed🤣. I never feel a pressing from you to buy new stuff... but I also live in Denmark, so It's more expensive to buy it, from here. Sometimes I do.

Beautiful! I'm trying to be brave and do more watercoloring. You make it look so easy and flowing. I appreciate your quandary on the stamp and die sets. I just found an older die set that nearly matches one I bought 2 weeks ago. I had just forgotten the old one and I fell for Tim's demo. My fault, but I know I'm not alone.

I love these colors. The purply part of prize ribbon is what makes it a must have. I love blue, always have. Cobalt blue especially so. The drop shadow really makes the letters jump off the page. I truly thought they had foam behind them. If I want to purchase a product and I want it because you showed it to me. You can bet you sweet bippy that I'm going to look for a link so you get credit for it. I am a huge fan of shopping my stash though. Sadly my pay check is even more disabled than my body. So almost everything I buy is on sale or clearance. I make a LOT of cards over 5000 last yr. So I am perfectly happy to use a product to make 50 cards. The cancer patients have no idea about new releases in our world. So I can wait for it to go on sale.

The fact that you use what you have and re-use older stamps is one of the things I really appreciate. Of course seeing you use new products and images is also fun. I never feel you are pushing anything - in fact, you are more low key than most. I need to get one of those hybrid inks that can handle watercolor and Copics.

I wanted to share that I purchased gently used Copic markers on ebay. Along with my purchase was a card the seller's mother had made with the markers and a message that sadly said she had passed away, but that she was happy that they were going to someone who would use them. ❤️ I think you'll love Copic markers because they really are a quality product. Happy New Year! 🥳
