Excellent!! Love knowing about what I've always heard in this song, and wondering how they did it! It means a lot to me to be shown how! I can't believe I'm getting all this for free!!! I'm continually humbled by what you've given to us (so far) for the past 10 years, and you still continue, to this day!!! Thank You!!!!

Really great. I remember when this album was first released and thought I had a head start on learning how to play all the songs because they were all in the key of E or A. Those were the only chords I knew!

James has the best ear on You tube! The go to man when you know what you’ve been playing for 40 years isn’t quite right. Keith Richards and Jimmy Page probably follow James James to remember what they themselves originally did.

You are a master. These are the nuances that people gloss over. You cant just strum the "cowboy" chords on this song. That harmonic isn't there. It's what makes Keith great. He plays it on "Rock and Roll Circus" another way. You have the closest to the album Ive heard.

Good lesson! He's using 2 guitars, and overdubbing. One in standard, the other in drop D. Listen to the 5 bottom notes before he plays the E chord at the end of the intro. There's a drop D note in that riff/fill. Hear it?

A long-delayed comment, I know, but I would respectfully suggest that this is not correct, even though it sounds good. The first two bars in the intro are played using this formation: 054670 (high to low). That very high E that you can hear is not produced by fretting the first string at 12, but is audible as a kind of harmonic phenomenon when this chord is formed. From the first two bars onward and for the rest of the song, it is played using the standard E and A chord configurations. That very high E is even slightly audible when E is played standard. I found it a bit hard to believe that a rock guitarist, especially Keith, would work himself that hard to form a chord if he didn't have to and I believe I was right.

I was watching the whole like usual and this is going to sound stupid but the opening E A the way it's played for this song reminds me of the opening for the song "Walk on the Wild side". Do you think Lou got that from this song? Great lesson as usual. Thank you.

Hi j I nice way to play the e chord on the fourth fret is this: Bar down the fourth fret but leave low e open Put index finger on 5th fret b string Put ring finger on 6th fret d string Put pinky on 7th fret A string Strum all 6 strings leaving low e open Hard but manageable...I thought that open e chord u hit with your pinky on the high e string 5th fret was insanity🤪
