NO BUY AMAZON UPDATE 2022
in 2022 I decided not to buy from amazon anymore. It was a challenge I wanted to try out in the spirit of slower living and supporting other smaller companies and brick-and-mortar stores. As with any challenge, I learned so much! Amazon is very convenient, but it does come at a cost, a cost we have to choose very intentionally if we decide to do so.

I totally agree with you! I also live in Germany and there are barely any independent/small/local tech stores nowadays. Especially niche items are very hard to find even in big stores. I personally don't mind shopping for niche products online, whether it's tech, homeware, etc. And I don't think it's hard to avoid amazon purchases, there are so many online stores with better ethics that offer the same items at decent prices. You just have to put a bit more time into searching online for them, but I think it's doable 🌿

I feel you on tools/tech being hard to get! I needed some Miter Shears for crafts. I went to Lowe’s, Harbor Freight, etc. They didn’t even know what I meant lol. Amazon was the only place who had these obscure things atleast in my small town 😢

what a shame that this is the new normal
Choosing not to have Amazon Prime was a great first step for me in not participating with the site and keeping my wallet fuller :)
