Thank you for making and sharing this tutorial. VERY well done! I love making potholders and this one simplifies sewing them much better than the way I've been doing it for years.
Now this is the technique I should have used last week when I was messing up the 2 pot holders I made with store bought binding. I will use this next time. Thanks again for your wisdom.

Your instructions are so very clear and helpful and your video angles are perfectly placed where we can see each step clearly. I used this same process to make a casserole dish hot pad and didn't include the hanger and it turned out great!

I love watching your videos. You explain everything so its easy to understand. My problem is getting my materials cut accurately..So I'm curious how you are able to cut them so perfect. Is there a method to doing this. Can you give me some advise?

Hi Daniel. Here is a link to a video with the hanging loop in the middle of one side. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hqCixsiThrycqbQ.html Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.
If I dont have cotton batting can I use 2 pieces of felt instead? I'm new at sewing and on a budget. Thanks.

Hi JG216. I haven't used felt in my sewing projects very often, and I worry how it would hold up during the wash cycle. Also, you want fabrics that protect from the heart and will not melt. If you have a Joann Fabrics and Crafts store near you, sign up for their coupon app that you keep on your cell phone. Often, they have 50% off coupons, and 20% off total purchase. I have the coupon app in my cell phone, and I use it all the time. Also, some Walmart stores cell fabric, and their prices are about half the cost. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

@@TheSewingRoomChannel thanks. i will do that. but first i will try the felt,
hello I am new to sewing and quilting. I have 1 question. How do you sew perfectly straight line when quilting the potholders? I am using the diagonal potholder and want it to look good, since i will be giving these away for gifts. thanks for your assistance in making potholders
@TheSewingRoomChannel

Hi Nancy. When stitching on a diagonal, keep the bottom corner closes to you pointed directly at you at all times. Practice on some scrap fabric. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

I think Nancy you could use a sewing erasable pen or chalk pencil draw the lines. It will come off

I need the hanging strip in the middle of the pot holder. Is it the same technique as on the corner?

Hi Gloria. Here is a tutorial that demonstrates how to put it in the middle: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pJuJxrZrl7m7daQ.html Click on the link, and then go to 06:19 minutes/seconds in the video. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
I can’t find the green button at the end of video?
My walking foot made it bunch up in the back did I do something wrong?
@TheSewingRoomChannel
4 жыл бұрын
Hi Debra. I have never had that happen before. Was the thread/stitching pulling the fabric into a bunch. Send me a picture to thesewingroomchannel@gmail.com. If I can see it maybe I can help. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

@@TheSewingRoomChannel I can't send a picture I took out all the stitches. But I redid it with the regular foot came out fine then I went to trim the threads and cut into the back fabric. Not my day!
I would just like to make a suggestion it is difficult to see detail when you were using a dark fabric with dark thread

@@TheSewingRoomChannel Did you get a chance to look at my short video of the potholders that I made following your tutorial?
No offense but I find this method harder to do than traditional binding. I watch all of your videos. I always learn something new.
