This is the first time I've ever seen "instructions" for an adoptable pet. I think this is great as a lot of adopters don't really know what to do with a new dog. It's obvious that NMDR REALLY cares about their animals. Thank you for all you do!

I love National Mill Dog rescue! I watch every time new doggers are brought in and wish I could bring them all home with me (Ma always said if you wish for something, wish for the biggest, best, most)! I would have the day of my life to get to make a visit there to just pet the little and big critters! Theresa and crew are doing such a wonderful thing to rescue and adopt them to a forever home!

This video is super informative and should be a MUST for all prospective adopters of puppy mill rescues as well as shelter dogs. You guys did such an amazing job on being so thorough in really helping people to understand the process that these dogs need to go through and the responsibility that comes with welcoming them into a family and into a home. As moved by, inspired by and in awe of the work that you all do at that shelter, I don't think I could do what you do because I would be fearful that some of these dogs could end up going to a home only to be abused, neglected and re-traumatized. That is my absolute worst fear for these precious babie!. I'm literally tearing up right now just thinking about it . I am like the parent who thinks the worst of all boys that come near their teenaged daughter regardless of how nice or decent that boy may seem. Do you guys ever have these types of fears? If so, how do you manage them and continue to adopt these dogs out? It is my dream to be able to do rescue work. I feel it tugging at my soul ever since I adopted my first shelter cat back in 2001 and the passion and intensity has only increased over time. I have only volunteered at a couple of shelters in PA and the US Virgin Islands. And I have only rescued a few stray animals who were somehow placed in my path - a total of six stray cats and 3 stray dogs (not all at the same time, of course). I couldn't keep them and I obviously couldn't get them adopted out myself, so Isought out the assistance of rescue groups or shelters to find them homes. As much as I feel this constant tugging at my soul and this passion to do something to help these animals, I wonder if I am really cut out for this work.

What a compassionate, loving rescue......also educating many who just don't know some things that go into adopting a MiLL dog. As a child we had Animals......but my parents taught us what they knew. Which .....really wasn't alot. But.....this was 55 yrs ago....lol!! Love this rescue!I've learned so much from your rescue. Also, just for dog lovers. There's a great song called......""Dog on a 10 ft Chain!!"" Beautiful about dogs born & dying on a chain!! Peace / Love!!

Great video! I haven’t been able to come out and volunteer due to illness. It has been wonderful to have Buzz, now Cheddar, as a part of our family since last February. He is doing awesome and gets along well with my other poodle who accepts Cheddar and gives him kisses! A real success story for our family and much thanks to everyone at NMDR who makes all these adoptions possible! Cheddar senses when I am not feeling well and is my number one snuggle buddy!

Oh my, you guys are truly amazing people for what you do. I did get teary-eyed seeing how scared they can get but I just don't understand how someone can do animals, in general, like that. When I had my baby girl, boxer/ bull mastiff mix, I couldn't even leave her at home when I'd go to the store or work. It just hurt me to see such a sad face staring at me through the window. Needless to say she got to go with me everywhere, work and stores included lol. Anyways thank you guys for such an amazing job you do with them and I agree with someone when they said that this video should be played on all rescue mills and shelters websites so people can get a better understanding on the process to adopt a pet

Thank you so much for the wonderful explanation. First I want to thank you again so much for taking these dogs in and doing what you can for them. I have to admit it was very hard to see how afraid they are. It angers me if these puppy mills and what they do to these poor things no one nothing living should ever have to endure that kind of treatment.

Just watched vid about horse rescue and how adopters were Complaining about how hard it is to Adopt a Dog!! How they were DENIED a Dog!! They were asked to do certain things, needed their home to be inspected, etc. They were Rejected to adapt a DOG they said, as if .... ITS A DOG ( no value??) . But, this Horse rescue was so accommodating, they did not do home checks, it was EASY and this Horse Rescue was a great rescue to work with (for these types of people!) . Which I get .....but Y'all ( DMR want Your Pets to go to Furever Homes ❤!! Not TEMPORARY homes 💔😵!! NMDR ....Best Dog RESCUE ❤

Attention : hey Miss TERESA I love you. I want to ask y’all to update two things on that tag for national mill dog rescue… The phone number needs to be as big as you can get it even bigger than your Logo, I love the size of the tag that’s perfect. And the identification number on the back of the tag also needs to be as big as possible not leaving any space and if you could turn the tag in the other direction having the numbers on the other side in the upright position for both the phone number and the ID number on the back is Ideal. I’ll tell you why, suppose someone sees this dog yet can’t get the dog in their hands they can at least see the phone number/ID number possibly from a distance. Another is suppose someone rescues this dog has the dog in their hands and they are trying to reach for their cell phone at the same time and with the given issue that they can’t reach their glasses or they don’t have their glasses on them and the possibility of being dark or in the middle of the night or in a dark place as dogs can sometimes crawl under things and such. I am a now retired lifelong RESCUER of 43 years at 53 years old now and all of the above situations I have encountered. Just A thought but I think it’s very important. I love y’all with all my heart, keep up the good work there is a special place in heaven for you all. Love y’all, and greetings from Savannah Georgia. 💛✌️🐾, Nina

Thank you for the info. I wish I could take everyone to love and make feel wanted and loved. Hopefully by early summer we will be in our new home. I already know we will need to do something with the 3 acres of fence that cane with the house. It is typical 3 rows and 2 posts. Don’t wants snakes in the yard so we will be putting snake fence all around the outside of the fence. Before we actually move in. I am praying my twin grandchildren will be frequent visitors so that was my main concern but also I knew I wanted to adopt 2 smallish dogs. A 3600 sq foot house so plenty of room to roam. Tile and I have trained quite a few to potty outside. My quickest was my Border Collie. I am a firm believer in adopt don’t buy. I saw 2 sets of two that I liked and I can take 4 if needed. My husband is on board and my stepson is elated. Really a dog mom really? My grandbabies need to be acclimated to being around dogs. They can’t have one but my son wants them to know the love they can share with a dog. He is used to having one or two all the time since he was small. I won’t do an application until we are ready to move in and have the fence fixed how I know it needs to be. Also I am going to have a dog run put in but Thayer will be inside dogs. We are buying a king sized bed so there will be room for our new brood. Out of all the shelters I have been looking at I appreciate yours. I do live in Ohio though but we could always drive to you to get our new little lives. I am 66 and retired. My husband is retired Army Captain. 31 years in service. Sam is 14. Twins boy and girl are 2. I pray for your group every night and also that God will make an adoption happen.

The film is educational and the content is useful for all prospective adoptive families. Is it necessary to neutre each dog? You go to extrime opposite technique of dealing with dogs that this technique is introduced by criminals from farms producing new generation of dogs? It is clear you help dogs in the farms; good job. But what are your generał goals of dealing with street or abandoned dogs? Please let me understand. And what is you approche to a mother expecting baby? If you care less for a human expecting Mother than for a dog's Mother, something is wrong. You realy do good great job. God bless those people.
