What a beautiful town. That "Main Street" (aka 2nd Street) cannot be over exaggerated: It is a delightful display of old architecture, reminding one of small town Mayberry from Andy Griffith Show.

Its a small town I've been there a couple time they shut down the k Mart there I would always go to k Mart before I go to springer. So sad I guess Raton is dying huh like if you agree

It is true that buisness is stifled by local and state corruption,the problem is much worse. Utility company workers fraud, state paid and other contractor fraud, realestate fraud tied into City Hall people's fraud and price manipulating with gouging and police vigilantiy movement. Along with kidnapping by prosecuters and family and vigilantly cop ambush of victems of the others crimes cover-ups of horrible crimes of a whole so called govnt. Involving also the entire medical establishment. Lawyers, judges, and the rest saying not all is well with you who are trying to just live!

I believe the K-mart closing had more to do with K-marts closing all over the country, than something bad happening in Raton. Stores like Dollar General, the Super Save grocery store, and more are all doing well. Organizations such as Raton Main Street helping bring new business to town (Brenda, shown in this video, works with that organization).

@@WaltDittrich It all is ongoing in Raton. Systemic corruption is all Americans have now, no matter where one may be. I made a huge mistake moving to Raton without checking the workings of the politics and other. Believe me when I say, corrupt people really believe they own other people and will perform all violence against anyone they wish.

@@tapperjames48 Could you please give some specific examples? (not just a general "systemic corruption") I'd bought my house in Raton only a few years ago, because I'd fallen in love with the town. Since, I've become more enamored with the place.
