He booked thier top star Nagata against fucking Cro Cop and Fedor who were the best 2 heavyweight MMA fighters at that time. He put the belt on Fujita the guy who notoriously refuses to lose matches. He put the belt on the joke Bob Sapp. Guys like Hashimoto,Muta,Kojima were driven away due to his madness. Nakanishi never got the title reign he deserved.

For people who don’t know the name hiroshi tanahashi you are in for the ride of your life easily one of if not the greatest iwgp champion to ever do it

Tanahashi is easily one of the greatest of all time, and although you can definitely tell when you watch him that injuries have done a number on him, he's still so, so INCREDIBLY good when the lights are bright and he's put in a big match. Go Ace!

Tanahashi vs. CM Punk at AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door, didn't think I'd ever see such a bout ever, but glad the match is being booked.

I love that Tanahashi refused to even acknowledge Mox..mox had to chase him but he waltzes up for the spotlight. Solid storytelling

A worthy main event for the first ever Forbidden Door event. Tanahashi is still putting out classics in his 40s, and I'm excited to see what he and Punk can put together. Gonna be a special show!

Why would AEW put that at No.1? That doesn't fit the storyline at all that they're telling, MJF just spoke out against AEW why would their KZread channel put that at number 1? @@TheRealist2024 I know he was injured. I don't remember if it was just before the match with page or during in the match. I believe he was on the following episode of Dynamite with a sling on his arm. I heard he's medically cleared for a return though. That's why I'm saying next PPV would be perfect for his return. Especially since that got injured and can't keep the AEW title. They're having a special match at Forbidden Door. Winner faces Moxley for the vacant world title. That's when Omega would be perfect for the whole thing.

This is so fuckin' cool.. Seeing Tanahashi in AEW is like watching Kamen Rider come to Power Ranger headquarter..

This Dynamite was an all timer. Straight fire start to finish. Punk is the CHAMP!!!!! 🔥

MJF promo was #1. A stand out show.

I've watched this three times and I'm still processing it, CM Punk world champion and FTR holding ROH championships forming a stable facing HIROSHI TANAHASHI... These are dreams I didn't know I had

I can't stress how awesome it is to be a real wrestling fan. AEW is giving us phenomenal wrestling, really good storylines (for the most part), bone chilling promos and most importantly they are giving fans what they wanted. A true Promotion vs Promotion all out war!

"The Best in the World" vs. "The Ace", This is going to be one hell of a match!

This is one of the best dynamite I've ever watched

MJF is the real #1 moment of dynamite

Tanahashi is one if the greatest in ring performers ever

Tanahashi is the perfect opponent for Punk. Despite shaking off his ring rust, Punk's age has definitely had an effect on his in-ring work and he needs to pick an opponent and he can have a slow paced hard hitting match with, and Tanahashi fits that bill brilliantly.

Ibushi, Okada, Naito, Jay White, SANADA, Will, Tana, etc…A lot of spectacular opportunities for great matches from NJPW.

I feel like we are in a situation here that is very interesting, because it's all gonna come down to "who faces Okada" thats what we all wanna know, and the fact that it won't be the World Champion suddenly adds a lot of suspense to every Dynamite until Forbidden Door. The fact that BCC is still busy with JAS is kind of a surprise after the PPV, because that means we don't get Danielson vs Okada (Or at least, not easily, though given how that broke down during the show, I doubt he'll be at Blood and Guts, so who knows.) So it makes you wonder how this is all gonna pan out, who is gonna face who, which is kinda cool

Bryan Danielson vs okada no debate aew and njpw would be stupid not to do a match that both of those men and the fans have publicly admitted that they want. Also if Okada is still the champion by the time we get to forbidden door make it a title match and have bryan win it. I know what you're thinking it's Okada first match on aew and he loses that doesn't sound like a good idea right? BUT think about the ticket sales for this years wrestle kingdom the only day that sold 10,000+ tickets was day 3 while every other day sold less than that in the past it was easy for njpw to pack 20,000+ people for wrestle kingdom but because of the pandemic,injuries and the bad booking decisions that they've made over the years. "cough" "cough" EVIL as the double champ "cough" "cough" retiring the intercontinental championship "cough" "cough" crowning Kota Ibushi as the first ever IWGP world heavyweight champion only to immediately lose it to Will Ospreay "cough" "cough" that has all changed. IMO if they want to draw a bigger crowd for the tokyo dome for next years wrestle kingdom then have each day featuring matches from aew stars and even put the aew title on the line against another NJPW star on day 2 and IMO have Bryan Danielson lose the title on day 3 vs one of these men. Will Ospreay,Hiroshi Tanahashi,Kota Ibushi,Shingo Takagi,Tomohiro Ishii,Tetsuya Naito,Zack Sabre Jr. and last but not least Minoru Suzuki because he deserves it that man has dedicated so much to japanese wrestling and anyone who believes he shouldn't be champion has no right to call themselves a fan of japanese wrestling.

I never thought, when I was watching Tanahashi fight Shinsuke Nakamura years ago, I would see him challenge CM Punk. I don't even know if I knew who CM Punk was yet! What a crazy world.

20 years plus NJPW fan here. Just Wow to see Tanahashi and Punk in the same place. It reminded me when the forbidden door of NJPW and AJPW opened years back.

Punk vs Tanahashi is an absolute dream match and I can’t wait to see it! Punk saying he needs to get better is a great way to explain himself because yes he needs to get better but the man has come along in leaps and bounds and even though he still makes the odd mistake it fits his character of a a once great champion who has fought his way back to the World title after 9 years and 7 years out of the ring and I truly love that about him. Punk in another year will be the Punk of ROH and that will be great to see, even though he’s still great to watch now. FTR are the greatest tag team in the world today and they honestly need to be AEW World Tag Team Champions and that will come eventually, but right now they make those ROH Tag Titles seem like the most important tag team belts in professional wrestling and that just goes to show how awesome those guys are. Forbidden Door has the potential to be one of the greatest PPV’s of all time.. I’m curious to see who Okada and Ospreay face from the AEW roster 🤨

In what universe would you expect to watch Punk vs Tanahashi with JR on commentary? Absolutely amazing.

Believe it or not the possibility’s are endless for this PPV and god only knows what surprises these matches will turn out to be and who will be part of them and only time will tell

That is clearly the Main Event of Forbidden Door. Cant wait. Absolutely nobody thought this match was possible. Its interesting too. CM Punks entire story is gone for 7 years now the AEW World Champion trying to chase his former glory. Gotta cut back the botches or dont attempt the moves. He is a pro so he can course correct a match like he is but gotta cut the mistakes or he could get injured.
