NITTO DRAG RADIALS on the Hellcat! New Dragy results AND first quarter mile test! NEW BEST TIMES!

I had Nitto RII Drag radials installed on the hellcat and we can finally achieve traction! We run new best times from 60-130 and we get our very first quarter mile results! Mid 11s at mid 120s in these conditions, NOT TOO SHABBY IMO! Stay tuned for a TON MORE!!!! #MrDragy #Hellcat #Nittotires #dragrace

Love this series you are doing. First thing I bought to battle heat soak was an interchiller, sucks the base hellcat didn’t get those from factory like the redeyes and demons. Then went a step further and bought a supercharger spacer and thermal blanket that wraps under the supercharger. It all helped tremendously. I don’t worry too much about IATs and the computer pulling timing.

@@MisterDragy Supercharger spacer and blanket definitely works I had it on my Redeye and my wife hellcat we both saw lower temperatures at the drag strip 30-50 degrees crazy , getting it for my Superstock

76f really isn't that hot but the humidity would definitely add to the DA.

  • @MisterDragy

It hits different for sure. When it's 76 and humid here, it will be 1700ft DA....which is 1700ft higher than our elevation. When it's 76 degrees somewhere that is 1700ft elevation, odds are the DA is within a few hundred feet of the elevation (so the car will run better there, not here at sea level). Common misconceptions people have.

Seems like that 2-3 is funky. Has more rpm drop wich I assume is due to trans gearing but kinda sits at 4k for a split second. You’re also shifting right at 60. Have you tried a third gear 40mph pass?

Or even short shift the 2-3 so you’re not shifting at 60 and can get up some momentum

I tried in my previous vid. It lost about 2 tenths starting in 3rd.

Starting in 3rd to avoid the shift is the answer. Of course. But right now the car isn't taking advantage of it. I assume it's because it's just not powerful enough to overcome gearing. Once the tuning is done I'd bet 3rd gear start will be the ticket. Let's find out!
