"One of California's most remarkable 20th Century folk art environments" was created by Cambria trash collector Art Beal. Beal, also known as "Der Tinkerpaw" and "Captain Nitt Witt" was a self-taught artist who sculpted his fascinating and elaborate multi-story home on Nitt Witt Ridge using only hand tools and native materials.
