Nitrous/Alcohol Liquid Rocket to 18,000 Feet - "Kit Fox"
On December 16th, I launched my 3-inch diameter liquid rocket "Kit Fox" to 18,000 feet with a perfect recovery at the Friends of Amateur Rocketry launch site.
Kit Fox is a nitrous oxide and isopropyl alcohol rocket designed to be highly volume-optimized and efficient. It takes inspiration from Half Cat Rocketry and Darcy II but features a coaxial shear injector and reduced recovery volume.
Thanks to Thomas Booska and Julien Denat for the photos.

Nice work Julian!!
Great work! I'd love to see another video with more details on how the injector/igniter bulkhead works and how you fuel the rocket.
Amazing! It's been fun to follow this one. Congratulations!
Congratulations! What an incredible accomplishment. Are you a mechanical engineer? What sort of training, groups, got you "hands on" with everything you had to do to build this? The machining, design, etc. Really, hats off!
Fantastic work
Awesome work! Congrats.
This project is frickin awesome. Was an honor seeing your progression in the build thread!
Amazing video and project. You inspire us all Julian!
Good work, congrats.. Patience always paid off
Incredible ! and it's great to know another Julian making rockets !
That's quite an accomplishment!
Bad ass man. Cant wait to see what is to come.
absolutely amazing
That is very impressive! Please keep goin‘!!!
Somehow only just saw the video. Such a cool project.
What a clean burn! Nicely done! Keep going. o7
Fantastic!
Wow that was cool.
Well done - it'd be awesome to see a video going over the engine design
Omg this is the coolest thing ever!! Great now I have to try…
Thats pretty good.
They say rockets and alcohol don’t mix, but clearly they do if you add an oxidizer! That was a beautiful flight, and an outstanding project. It was also the cleanest-looking exhaust I’ve ever seen! How many years did this take you, and how many people added significant help?
強力的音浪聲❤
Great flight! What was the confirmed final apogee altitude?
how much did you pressurize oxidizer tank ?
How is the fuel (alcohol) pressurized/ fed into the engine?
If this is amateur then what am i??
