Nitro Pepsi: A Cool, Bubbly Idea That Falls Flat
I don't know that Pepsi needed nitro or vanilla flavors in the first place, but I do know that the nitro backfired.

Yeah I'm glad to see that you had literally the same experience I did with the Nitro Pepsi. I was like "oh, that's interesting, let me try another sip- and it's completely flat."
Gonna be honest…it just tastes like flat Pepsi. I’m familiar with nitrogenated beverages. But this just just tastes like I left a can of soda open too long.

Flat, and far too sweet. It actually has more sugar than normal pepsi.

I found I like it more when you don't pour it hard. Keeping the nitro in makes its texture very different in a good way. But still too sweet, agreed.

Agreed. I felt it was smooth straight from the can though, not flat.
As a collector of pop tabs, I really like that orange tab on the top of the can. I'd ask if I could have it, but who knows what vile Malort concoction PV3 would have to drink to earn that stamp money.
This is the first time we've ever had "what does the fizz of the drink bubbling sound like" as criteria for judging it!
If you want sweet soda, try Coca-Cola canned in the Middle East. Every time I had one during my deployments overseas, I felt my teeth lose enamel and my veins thicken. 😬
If it's draft, you're kinda supposed to drink it when all the foam is at the top of the drink. You're not supposed to wait for the foam to dissipate before you drink it like you do with normal Pepsi.

I think you're right, I always drink mine immediately. I've found pouring it hard over a cup of ice let the bubbles persist longer. Maybe they hung onto the ice?

Great review PVIII…still getting a good long laugh out of every video I watch. Thanks!

Nitorgen is a smooth and creamy carbonation as oposes to CO2 that comes off stingy.
Can one of these networks give this guy a talk show? Charisma of Stephen Colbert combined with the humor of Conan O’Brian 🙌
Hands down PV3 and Reviewbrah have the best KZread merch I've ever come across. Nobody gets recognized more than these two when I'm wearing their T-shirts!
I am here for more soft drink reviews! And everything else too. :)
Once again you saved me. Not only do I'm not like Pepsi, I do not like flat Pepsi even more. Without this video, I might have been tempted enough with the "draft" label to give it a try
You were definitely supposed to upend the can into your glass and drink it with the bubbles still on top.
Nitrous Pepsi. Bubbles buried in this jungle.

Nitro beer always tasted almost flat to me as well and now I am having to ask my self is it cus all the bubbles don't stay suspended like co2 and it is actually flat? Or is it cus the bubbles are so fine they don't register on the pallet and it tastes flat?

I drank a whole can once. It was very sweet. I liked it. Didn't want any soda the rest of the week though.
Nitrogen is inert, so it does not absorb into the liquid like carbon dioxide. Because of this, if you pour hard and don't immediately sip, there is nothing there. The appropriate way is to carbonate it some, and then final canning with nitrogen. Source, I work at a brewery.
I tried to give Nitro Pepsi the best possible conditions for tasting; ice-cold, poured from high into an ice-cold glass, to give it a nice foam. It tastes like Pepsi from a 2-L bottle that was opened a couple of days ago. If flat soda is to your liking, then you'll probably be a fan. Personally, I prefer the sharp bite from the carbonation, the nitrogen is just a gimmick.

Nitrogen infusion is much better with stronger flavours, hence nitro brew coffee being platable for people who don't drink black coffee. The carbonation is part of what gives a cola any strong flavour (especially Pepsi, Coca-Cola has a bit more of a bite even when flat), so this will always be a bad idea unless they design a Pepsi syrup that'd be unpleasantly strong to drink when carbonated.
'sounds like my ex wife after a night of heavy drinking' is where I expected that to end up tbh
I have drank this before. Didn't realize how much sugar was in it.

any soda is going to have a similar amount, it’s insane that at restaurants they give us 16 ounce cups for the stuff
It growls when opening... Creepiest Cola.😆
Not flat, still selling it. I love it
Nitro Pepsi is the Yikes Stripes of the soda world. It bum rushes you with all those bubbles and then just leaves you disappointed after the first sip.
I like it but only if I'm drinking through the foam. I've tried it after the foam leaves and it's lackluster by then. Can't agree more about the sugar though.
I got it the first day it was available in my area a year or so ago. The idea I had was it tastes like a flat Pepsi (the regular one) or a melted Pepsi Float (the vanilla one). It was super lame.
I appreciate you.
Remember when you carbonate water it makes a mild boric acid, and when you drink soda you get that bite from the boric acid...taking away that makes it taste smoother but flat
I've had some excellent root beer that was actually on draft at the local pub, this sounds like the exact inverse of that experience
Should have a chug metric, the nitro chugs smooth. Think of it like "hows it shoot" method with hard liquors

What's the point of chugging it? It's supposed to taste good, not get you drunk.
Hmm... Looks like it runs out of head/carbonation/"carbonation" way too quickly. Seems like they'll need to include some additives to help with retention. It's probably why there's so much sugar too, but it clearly doesn't seem to help much. If it retained the carbonation better like a Guiness and had half as much sugar I might like it occasionally.
Bring on the 12% ABV Malt Pepsi in the classic 40 oz.
I think you mean "testing the rules of solubility". :)
Sounds like Pepsi had a Mardi Gras with the invention of high fructose corn syrup.... Ps. I miss 'Murican Gladiators
I've had it, it just tastes flat. Compared to other nitrogen drinks I've had like Monster nitro it just doesn't taste like Pepsi put in nearly enough nitrogen.
Nitro Pepsi = Nitro Disappointment. No stars.
Do not let that thing get shaken up. I open it out the car window just in case.
This one felt like a regular review. Is Prescott’s mental health finally stabilizing?
for beverages that don't have any fizz to them at all Nitro works fine, but for beverages that rely on carbonation nitro doesn't work.

Yeah ya jacked up the pour. Should say pour fast. Did that the first time I opened one. And it was flat. Have to open it and flip it upside down, into the glass as fast as you can. The faster the better.

@Reulorics I've had 8 of them to learn this...there is a capsule at the bottom of the can. It almost pushes it out. The faster you get the can upside down the more gas you get into it.

I had one of these out of pure curiosity and could not believe how gross it was.

I never understand why people wear sweaters like that over dress shirts. It both looks odd _and_ is relatively impractical.
63 grams of sugar? They could have at least made it 69.
I really have no idea who this product is for. Nearly everyone says it just tastes like flat soda, and that's my experience too. I guess if that's what you want, it works, but I don't know anyone who'd want it that way.

Some people pour Guinness by opening it, putting a glass over it, then flipping it (or just immediately flipping the opened can upside-down into the glass). I can't say that it's the best way as some people claim (someone will always claim theirs is the best), but it works.

I was so disappointed in this. I love Pepsi over Coke and I love nitro coffee and beers. This was just too weird and didn't do anything particularly well. It tasted like a flat warm soda despite being ice cold.
You fucked up multiple times. 1) you did not pour hard, you poured lazy. 2) you were supposed to drink while the head was there. 3) there is no carbonation because it's not carbonated, it's nitrogen pressurized.
