Amen brother!!!! It is a lost art in NHRA. Entertainment began with half track burn outs and awesome back up girls topped off with 1 or 2 dry hops. Those where the days.

What happened in that pass between Tony Jurado and Kris Krabill, i believe Kris almost had him beat ?
Theyre starting to allow the bodies in nostalgia funny car to morph the same way they did in regular nhra funny car in the 80s and 90s. Kind of starting to lose the nostalgia mystique.

They actually don't even want to be considered "nostalgia funny cars". Notice how the announcer announces them, it's "nitro funny car." The look of some of the bodies is the only thing nostalgia about the cars. They are, for the most part one mag big show combinations. Sure, there are some different combinations out there such as the Austin's with their Ford but the nostalgia name has been passed by for sure. Neo-nostalgia, maybe, but the teams and competitors don't like such phraseology.

@@MondayMorningRacer i didn't know about any ford. I was thinking it was still a 1969 Camaro, owned by Bucky Austin and driven by Bobby Cottrell. ?? 🤔 It was awesome to see Bobby win another championship. I believe he is tied with Big Don for most March Meet wins now. 👍

Remember, Bucky Austin isn't the only Austin out there. There's Pat and Drew Austin with the Ford combination. Well, to answer the last statement, make sure you watch the last interview with Bobby.

@@MondayMorningRacer dam brother. You got me. I only ever think of Bucky. I had a chance meeting with the team many years ago before all the wins. Im now very much a supporter of theirs. They are a great group and alwsys very friendly to all the fans. I stayed at the track all afternoon Sunday. I was excited to see Austin vs Austin. Unfortunately as you know the track never got dry and warm enough to run. Luckily for me someone posted the hit. Bobby for the win!!. Thanks if that was you. 👍 See you in Oct if your going to be out there. 👊

@@MondayMorningRacer one more ?? Has the Austin vs Austin thing happened before?? I know the win Drew got in 21 at RRR happened without having to race his Uncles team. Bobby had a gas leak that took him out of commission.

These nostalgia funnies are starting to sound more like hi revving alcohol cars than nitro cars. And every year they look less and less like classic '70s FC's. What the hell are these doink heads doing to the class?!!
There is no excuse for that many people standing around at the starting line. The insurance company wouldn't like it.
