I love my LR60 for its powerbank capabilities. But definitely want a nitecore carbon powerbank in the future. Like the Summit type.

Just to be clear the NPB series, the cylindrical ones are waterproof, not the NB series. 😱

What ever happened to the NPB4 at 20,000mah with the carry case? Do we have to ask Kelly about it?😁

Great video! I own a lot of nitecore power banks, but I am not really interested in the carbo banks. The carbo 10000 is heavier than the NB10000, so I'd pick the NB for hiking backpacking. And the NB is also cheaper. The 20000 is a little more interesting. It is lighter and smaller than the NB, but it also charges much more slowly. I can't really charge a laptop off of it. The NB is a much better power bank for travel. I give the carbo 20000 an edge for hiking and backpacking (since I wouldn't bring a laptop or other device that charges at 65W for those), but it's not a huge edge. Given the cost, I just bought a NB20000 to use for both traveling and longer backpacking trips. They are more slick though. But since I already own the others and the NB20000 charges way faster anyways, I don't see any reason for me to opt for the carbo banks.

I am 100% with you. Their rationale for the Carbo 20k was that not too many people were charging 3+ devices at once so they dropped the power output + port #. But I wish they kept the raw output of the NB20K and carried it over to the Carbo even if they do reduce the number of ports.

@@NitecoreStore Yeah, definitely! For a travel bank, I don't mind if the port number is limited as long as it can do pass-thru and has enough raw output to keep my laptop going. That way I can jsut charge additional devices off the laptop if I want.

Those are not for any kind of laptops. I own 140w Anker for my laptop.

@@EVR1AL that's false, these work fine for most laptops. MacBook airs don't even use above 45W. I have a 16" MacBook pro that takes up to 140W, but it doesn't strictly need that much to charge. As long as you're not trying to do something hugely computationally intensive like play games, render complex graphics, compile huge code projects, or edit video, then this will not only keep that laptop from draining, it will also charge it. You don't need max power unless you're using max compute. Which I'm usually not doing on the go. Usually I'm just web browsing or something simple. And if I'm not doing anything, 65W (or even 30W) will charge even the 16" M1 MacBook pro just fine in my bag.

What kind of Lithium battery your using, Regular Lithium, NMC, or LifePO4? So far your heading to the right direction, I am seriously thinking of switching from GoalZero to you... but quality and durability is at the utmost importance.

You didnt mention that the non-carbo nb20000 is the only one that has 45W output and 30W input which allows the charging of a laptop while using

Couldn't really go into detail for each one cause them the video would be way to long, but you are right that is an important spec....I am hoping they make an NB20k gen 2.

The yellow branding and port guide on the carbo may be useful but ruins the stylish all black carbon fiber construction.

3:09 "...the ultimate glove box power bank..." Why do I need a power bank in a car if I have a 20gr car charger providing me with 160W. The only scenario I can think about is if someone decides to blow up an Atomic bomb above my head in the stratosphere the resulting EMP will destroy all my electronic devises including my phone and most probably the power bank itself, so even in such an extreme case I still being not able to find any justification to have a power bank in my car. Maybe it’s because of my lack of imagination… Please help me to find a plausible justification and I’m all in.

This is actually a fairly good point, I keep forgetting because I have an old car, that most newer cars have USB ports in the center console. This blew my mind the last time I was in my friends new car... I suppose a possible (however unlikely) scenario would be some sort of electronics failure, i.e. battery, alternator, starter, so you have a back up battery to keep your phone charged so you can watch your friendly neighborhood Nitecore man talk about flashlights while waiting for the tow truck?
