Perfect; just replaced my daughter's 2010 Nissan Sentra S passenger mirror with your instructions. Was able to reuse the "back cover" without any trouble, snapped right in to the replacement mirror assembly. Thanks again!

Would you have to unclip it from the inside of the housing by taking the mirror off of the front?

I just replaced mine, it was easy. What he shows in this video was exactly how mine went. I have a 14. Maybe the hole is shaped a little different, so you have to be careful. But its the same thing. I dont have a ratchet so i used pliars to loosen and tighten the bolts, it was no big deal. When the deer rammed my car, it took off the adapter piece that powers the mirror. So mine is unpowered, but I am still able to manually aim it, and it stays in place. Again, thank you for the video!

For those wondering if they can use their old cowl (back cover) that matches their paint color. I just changed my mirror unit and here is what I did. I figured the old front part and base was useless, so I took a screwdriver and carefully pried the glass mirror part out of the unit. This will leave all clips in plain view with easy access. There are two clips on each end - use a screwdriver carefully and push down a little to release them from holding the end. The other clips have a little hook on their ends to snap into the the clip holders in the broken unit. Again, use a screwdriver to CAREFULLY lift the hooked ends to release the cowl hooks (the part you want to keep) from the clip holders on the broken unit. (These are plastic, so be extra careful not to snap them) This should release the cowl - line it up with the new unit and push in. Your old hooks should be in good enough shape to snap it into the new unit. I realize explaining this is like trying to give a haircut over the phone, but just know, it can be done if you remember you'll be trashing the old unit and don't need to be too careful breaking the mirror to expose the clips.

Good video! A deer played cornerback against my door, destroying the side mirror. I was delivering food that day for pay. When the mirror came off, there were bare wires sticking out, so probably I won't have power. But usually they manually move and stay in place, at least I hope so. I've missed several days of work because of this. Side mirrors are crucial for safety. I tried delivering without it, I had a close call and felt nervous.

....oh, and by the way, it’s not necessary to remove the door panel to retrieve the lost nut....just pop the bottom forward edge of the panel straight down below the mirror mount out about an 8nvh or so and the nut will drop on the floor. Pop the panel back into place...15 seconds.

Want to replace only the back side

Folks recall DIY Repairman Lesson101 - Place a rag into/over the whole in the top of door paneling to prevent the nuts or any other pieces from falling into the door and making your 5 minute repair job into an all day fishing expedition for your nuts! Or put a piece of tape over the nuts to catch them. There are all sorts of ways to prevent losing your nuts...and your mind! Have fun!

Yeah the 2017 side view mirror is completely different from this. Shop want to charge me $700 and I just want to do it myself but don’t want to remove the door panel.

Sorry, its funny because I did that exact thing on the other door. I had to remove the whole panel to get it.
