After watching your video last weekend and reading through the Haynes Manual... Changed the air filter, drained the oil, all good! But when it came to the oil filter removal it was a total arse ache.. Initially I attempted to remove it with the chain type tool, with no hope of getting a turn on the filter, relentlessly hesitated on me. Ended up buying the 3-leg removal tool that goes on the end of a rachet and extention bar. After a good 20 minutes rocking the car it eventually turned. Fitted new filter hand tight as it should be done.. I reckon the previous owner or servicer went mental on it for fear of an oil leak and over tightened it with a tool, certainly wasn't hand tight! Your video was really beneficial mate. Following your channel. Luckily I manged to remove the oil filter without taking off that tube you removed in your video plus manged to do the job without jacking up. Brilliant video! I have a 2016 Qashqai. Doing the oil change, oil filter and air filter replacement next weekend. Was keen to see whether you would remove that Turbo tube for less confined access for the old filter, as Haynes Manual interesting doesn't mention it as a suggestion in their detailed procedure. I have the chain type removal tool, but even with that I'd say it will be tight!

I’ve never used the chain type filter removal tool, the one I used got it off with ease if I’m honest, let me know how you get on!

The american version Rogue is way easier to change the air filter, just remove the top cover and pop it in. Also oil filter is easier to access at the bottom. Also our dipstick is not the pour hole. That's wierd and cool at the same time. European version seems unnecessarily complicated.

Well done mate and well-done to your Mrs for getting this done, think all women and men should have a basic knowledge so they don't get ripped off if not around. What engine size was this model?
