At least it didn't break in half like the notorious D40 Nissan Navarra! Even Eric O from SMA would cringe at those rusted out suspension arms. You have saved the owner from a serious accident there Luis.

I did this recently on my Nissan Qashqai +2, 4WD. The front bolts on both sides were so rusty that they could not be loosened. But I solved this by unscrewing the 4 bolts in the bracket that holds the arm to the chassis. Then after I had to cut the curved part of the arm, near the bracket, by means of an angle grinder. After that I managed to cut the rusted bolt on either side. The size of the metal cutting disc had to be at least of Ø 23 cm in order to do this.

You come here looking for free information at the expensive of others that take the time and put effort to share information... And you think you are entitled to it just because? I spend an hour each year under my cars coating everything like that with copper slip grease. That way it never gets past the surface rust stage. Any non setting rust preventive applied on a regular basis will do. Job well done, I agree it all had to be renewed.

As a 2 X-trail owner, 2005 T30(sold) and 2012 T31, they share the same rear brakes and same with the QQ. The desing is rubbish. Especiali the slide pin (goes thru the caliper) and rubber seal desing. Smutz build up between the caliper and the seal lip presses the smutz thu the seal. Nissan/Renault still use the same design from 2001 to present. I need to service/clean them every autum, if not, then they seize. Tell the QQ owner too, that just cleaning/regreasin the pins, cleaning the rust under the bads hardware is the key.
