Nissan Pathfinder R51. Time for M/Ts

Miller Trail @ American Fork Canyon, Utah 🇺🇸. A/T work on slick rock but not on granite shale. Pressure was 5psi too high for rock crawling.

tip, add full vehicle name in the title , you will get lot of views, because for example if someone search for nissan pathfinder r51 offroad, will never find this video, or at least in the description😉

You need to weight up your options with AT and MT How often are you going to be driving in mud...is your car your daily etc etc There are lot of good ATs out there that are very aggressive maybe look into them first. My wife's 90 series Prado has MTs on it but they are more of a hybrid. The lugs on them aren't as spread apart as what the MTs are in my patrol. Once the tyres on my patrol is at the end of their life I'll be looking into some similar to my wife's tyres. They handle really well on the road in both wet and dry conditions. Possibly look at maybe a front locker?

It’s not my daily just a camp/touring vehicle. The hybrid tires here in the US are classified as M/T. The A/Ts I have now are pretty closed lug pattern. For the desert terrain, snow and street its been good. The granite mountain stone and rocks the tread isn’t open enough to bite anything. In my other short I just posted you can see how close the tread blocks are.

Late reply on this, but there is always the middle ground option. I wanted more than an AT but didn't want the noise of a full MT, so I went with a middle ground tire. Milestar Patagonia XT. Super quiet on the road, triple peak snow rating and a 40,000 mile treadwear warranty.

Does your fan run loud on hot days? Mine seems to always run on hot days. Doesn't overheat though.

Not as much when doing 10-15mph but at high altitude crawling its on and off frequently. In this video we are about 10k feet. Air temp was 63*F but the sun was intense. Felt like 80*F in direct sunlight.
