Audi R8 and BMW i8 please. This is easily the best analysis I’ve seen. Phenomenal information. I’m looking at these three cars, maybe a Maserati or a new Corvette. They all seem to have decent reliability except the Maserati. I think purchase price, appreciation/depreciation and running costs are the three most important considerations in a decision like this. I may just get an S2000 though and keep investing the rest. 😁

Thank you for the wonderful video ! I love the detailed analysis! You should make a video on the C7 corvette, as the new model is being unveiled in a week. Seeing what that would do to the price would be of high interest to a lot of potential owners and current owners. You sir have earned a new subscriber, keep up the wonderful work!!!

Watching this now to get the “normal” depreciation for late 2022-2023 since 2019-2022 was just stupid lol. About to calculate what the GTR I’m looking would be if that high bubble didn’t occur to find a decent actual value

@Glasseyed865 жыл бұрын
Good video! However. There are two major facelifts 2012 and 2017. Also the only reason "Black Editions" don't depreciate as much in your data is due to the fact they were only offered on 2012-2016 models. It seems one would have to spend 60-70 for a good 2012-2016 GTR. I'd personally rather spend 80-90 on a 2017+. The 2017 has upgrades that cannot be retrofitted (for reasonable money) to the 2009-2016 cars such as stiffer body shell, thicker glass, better interior, smoother transmission and more compliant suspension. Those upgrades would justify the $10-20K premium for a 2017+. If you were going to do a monster 1000hp build it would be best to buy a high mileage 2009-2011 since you'll be upgrading nearly every component anyways. I predict that $40K will be the floor value for the 09-11 cars and $50K for the 12-16 cars in the next few years. Right now is the time to buy a stock low mileage 2009 car to keep as a collectible. They will be sought after due to their "rawness" that the 2010+ cars slowly engineered out.

Hi MrGrey, thanks for all the information. I indeed forgot to include the 2017 facelift. Some other viewers also messaged me about this. I also think that we are approaching a point where it might be worthwhile to buy a 2009 low mileage for 'collectible' purposes. These cars have just so much going for them.

Fantastic analysis only criticism is that facelift year is 2017 not 2014. Compare 2017 facelift to 2012 facelift to 2009. I don’t think there was a facelift in 2014. Correct me maybe?

Hi David, I used 2012 as the year to discriminate between the pre-facelift and facelift cars. I indeed don't think there was one in 2014. However, there was one in 2017 and like you mention and I forgot to include this one. Sharp observation.
