Nissan Frontier Blacked out Grill!! Mod: 7
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video I painted my plastic chrome grill black. This definitely makes a huge difference on the looks of the truck!
Please forgive me I just realized I didn't get the clear coating portion of the video attached. I either lost the footage or accidentally deleted during the edit. Clear coating is similar to the paint process, A quick search on KZread can help you with that part.
Parts used in this video- Primer DAP1698, Paint BUN0100, Adhesive Promoter CP199 , Cleaner/Prep PS200, Red and Grey Scotchbrite, Clear coat BCL0125.

I thought I was the only one who knew that was reference from Flaws
I prefer satin black over high gloss, looks way better in my opinion. So how is it holding up a year later? Also, I'm pretty sure those wheels are silver from factory. Did you have them repainted or powder coated?
On my second Frontier now and both times I blacked out the grill... and what a bitch to separate the two pieces of the grill. Actually my first Frontier I just masked the inner part because I was afraid I’d break one of the two plastic pieces. Second time I found they’re pretty flexible, but figured if I broke them, now there’s an option to get the Midnight replacement grill from the parts department.
Paint came out nice definitely gonna follow your steps on my frontier. Did you paint your wheels? I’ve seen black wheel covers online I’d want matching wheels as well. Please let me know

Those are actually wheel covers. You can find them on eBay !
Just saw your video. I likes how it turned out and was wondering how it looks after a couple years? Thank you!

Other than the regular wear and tear from bugs and rocks its doing good!
Looks good need black out headlights now ….
yeah i like to black out grill and bumper, and get kit for wheel ..
How does painting hold up compared to plastic dip? Plastic dip seems less work but I’m scared of it peeling off more quickly.

Holds up much better. Plasti dip wasn't my favorite for the grill, I tried it first. It also didn't have the color black that I like. Pro on plasti dip is youncan always peel it off and redo it
You did a nice job. Looks great. Did you spray a clear coat on it?

Yup I put a clear on there. You have too especially since it's prone to bugs and stuff

@@localfisherman7592 Also, did you have to scuff the paint before you applied the clear?

@@bkg2213 no you can apply the clear straight to the paint. But make sure you clean it first.

They are wheel skins, I believe Nissan made them but there’s a bunch of aftermarket ones on eBay and maybe Amazon
You need to paint that Nissan Emblem red!
What primer used
