It's a Daihatsu Cuore body with a front end transplant from a GTVI Sirion, doubling its power with a more modern 1.3L engine resulting in a widening of the whole front end a couple of inches. I respect that the race actually seemed legit - I was expecting that it would be set up (e.g. when Marty overcooked it) so that the Figaro would win, but low and behold the Turd actually won! Made it very enjoyable to watch and now I can't wait for next week! Cheers

the figaro is cute, i wouldn't mind having one, but i was cheering for the Turd! i got a smart with 205/50-15 tires and it sticks like glue in turns, 0-100kph in 10 seconds, i wonder what it would do against those two.

Just for fun I looked at craigslist here in my corner of America (since you provided the AD conversion :) And found a 92 MR2 turbo for 1200, a mitsu GSX turbo awd for 1700 exactly. 90 Super Coupe for 850! 86 fiero Se 1200, 98 supercharged GTP 1700, 82 Z28 1500, 87 crx si 1500, Porsche 931 turbo 1500, V8 Tbird 750, 88 Lincoln mark 1000, 89 300Z turbo 1000, 87 turbo coupe 600! 91 mx6 turbo 1450 SSEI supercharged 1600, 97 SHO 1200, 86 944 1500, Its nice to see cheap cars available again :)

Nice, I have been stalking Japanese websites for a while now waiting for the early turbo cars to pass the 25 year mark to get something over here. next year I could potentially get a 1st year r32 gtr and a year or two later the really good stuff starts to become possible :) With the going cost for a beat down TT supra or FD locally a rhd import actually makes sense.

I love when they refer to either of these cars as being 'fast'. That is the last thing these little cars are, no matter what you do to them. That said, on a small track with short straights and a lot of turns like the one they are on, I bet they are insane fun. I'd never consider building one or buying one, but if someone else offered to let me drive one on a track, I'd prolly end up ripping my ears off from putting my helmet on so fast.
